About this role

At our core, RSL LifeCare provides care and services to veterans and seniors who live in our communities or are receiving support at home. Our vision of creating proud communities living their best lives is at the heart of everything we do as we continue to build upon our legacy of supporting veterans and their families for more than 100 years.

This is an opportunity for you to join a large social purpose organisation where your skills and compassion will be valued and enable you to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

The Retirement Living Lifestyle and Activities Coordinator is responsible for arranging regular activities for residents within the village as well as larger events and excursions.  The Coordinator is also responsible for the publishing of the monthly newsletter, including content creation, design, formatting and printing.

In this role you will:

  • Welcome new residents by handling activity enquiries and supporting their settling‑in period.

  • Plan, promote and deliver the monthly social program, including researching new activity ideas and community opportunities.

  • Coordinate regular activities such as Friday Lunches, resident outings, cinema sessions and pop‑up shops, ensuring bookings, logistics and insurance requirements are met.

  • Support resident groups with administrative needs and communicate reminders or updates about upcoming activities and events.

  • Organise transport arrangements for residents attending external activities within the local community.

  • Create, coordinate and distribute the monthly resident newsletter, liaising with contributors and external printers.

  • Coordinate resident events, including budgeting, booking procedures, supplier liaison and verification of public liability insurance.

  • Work with the RSL communications team on significant commemorative events such as ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day.

We need you to be able to:

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork, open communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities.

  • Provide warm, engaging customer service with excellent interpersonal skills, compassion and empathy for older residents.

  • Apply advanced written and verbal communication skills, along with high computer literacy across MS Office, desktop publishing and Canva.

  • Bring strong organisation, time management, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.

  • Contribute creative thinking by researching new ideas, offering fresh perspectives, supporting event management and leading the monthly “What’s On” resident meeting.

  • Show initiative, motivation and a passion for creating meaningful, stimulating activities and events that enhance residents’ wellbeing.

RSL offers the following benefits:

  • Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year. This allows you to reduce your taxable income by receiving part of your salary as tax-free benefits like super contributions, car leasing, and more.

  • Staff discounts across 700 select retail stores through Maxxia Rewards

  • Fitness Passport

  • Leave Loading - 17.5% pay top up on paid leave

  • Plus, you get to work alongside a great team!

Our commitment to diversity:
We are proud to stand for our unique values: Do the Right Thing, Aim Higher, Care from the Heart, and Act as One team.

We welcome and encourage applications from people across our diverse community, especially from Veterans, current serving ADF personnel, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, valued and heard regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
