About this role
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of this position is to provide rigging/rescue support all Entertainment venues and systems in our MELCO properties.
The primary function of this position is to work under the direction of the Rigging Manager in the operation of rigging equipment and rescue equipment and to support other departments rigging needs. The scope of responsibility covers the property areas mentioned above.
This department will be responsible for all safety of working at heights, the safety of the visitors during rescue from the Golden Reel and the safety of the arena audience under all hung elements.
The Rigger will be responsible for the setup, dismantle and operation all items of rigging in all areas of the venue. The rigger will also be required to carry out training, inspections and provide rescue support as directed by the Rigging Manager.
The department will support other entertainment events programmed by the Entertainment Department. The department will closely collaborate with POS dept. Melco Project Team, Customer Services Dept. and Resort Engineering.
Prior to opening the department must develop all Training, Rescue, Standard Operating Procedures and maintenance programs. They are directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of rigging equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiarise themselves with the equipment of the Rigging Dept and learn how to operate and use them correctly.
- Set up, dismantle and operate rigging equipment in the different venues as directed by the Rigging Manager.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to the departmental SOP and Preventative maintenance schedule for the areas of Melco properties.
- Support the rigging needs of other departments.
- Provide rescue support where needed.
- Work to develop departmental risk management, rescue and safety strategies.
- Ensure that all procedures are followed.
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training and maintenance on a 24/7 basis.
- Participate in the regular inspection of all installations
- Perform any other tasks and projects as assigned by the Rigging Manager
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Assist to achieve a successful and smooth operation of the Venues and Attractions at Melco properties.
- Assist to achieve a successful program of SOP and Preventative maintenance schedule for the areas under the department scope.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- More than 2 years of pertinent experience in either a theatrical or arena rigging position.
Education
- IRATA Level or equivalent
- Any other relevant professional qualification
Skills / Competencies
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to read rigging plans
- Willingness to work to a 24/7 rotation schedule
- Promote team work and support within all department members
- Positive Can Do attitude
- Fluent in English
