We’re looking for someone who sees a clunky spreadsheet, repetitive process or manual workaround and immediately starts thinking: there has to be a better way to do this.

At Vanden, this isn’t a role where you’ll spend your time writing requirements and handing them to somebody else to build. We want someone who can understand the business problem, work out what needs to change, and then get hands-on in creating the solution.

The opportunity

Vanden is a global plastics recycling and trading business operating across international markets.

That’s where you come in.

You’ll sit at the intersection of people, process and technology, working across the business to identify friction, remove unnecessary manual work and build practical solutions that make our teams more effective.

This is a lean environment. You won’t have layers of developers, project managers and consultants around you. You’ll need to be comfortable taking an idea from conversation through to a working solution.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work directly with teams across Vanden to understand how they operate and where technology can make a meaningful difference.

That could mean:

• Sitting with a team to understand why a process takes three hours when it should take 30 minutes.
• Mapping workflows and identifying bottlenecks, duplicated work or unnecessary manual steps.
• Turning business problems into clear requirements and practical solutions.
• Building apps, forms and workflows using tools such as
  Power Apps, Power Automate, Replit and other low-code platforms.
• Automating spreadsheet-heavy, repetitive or manual processes.
• Rapidly building prototypes so users can see, test and improve an idea rather than spending months discussing it.
• Creating dashboards and reporting using tools such as Power BI and Excel.
• Supporting new system implementations, including configuration, testing, UAT and rollout.
• Cleaning or migrating data when new tools and processes are introduced.
• Working with external software vendors and technology partners when additional expertise is required.
• Training colleagues on the solutions you introduce and making sure they actually get used.
• Supporting and improving the tools you build once they are live.

Most importantly, you'll constantly ask:

Does this make the business simpler, faster or better?

What we’re looking for

You’ll probably have around 3+ years' experience in business analysis, systems analysis, business improvement, IT operations or a similar role.

More important than your job title is what you've actually done.

We want someone who can show examples of processes they have improved and solutions they have personally helped design or build.

You'll need:

• Hands-on experience building workflows, applications or automation using low-code/no-code tools.
• Strong familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem — ideally Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint and Teams.
• A practical understanding of process mapping, workflows and data.
• The ability to talk comfortably with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• The confidence to work independently and take ownership of problems.

What will make you stand out

We’ll be particularly interested if you can show us something you've built.

That might be an internal application, automated workflow, reporting dashboard, integration, prototype or process that replaced a manual way of working.

Experience with
ERP or CRM systems, APIs, Replit or AI-assisted development tools would also be useful.

We're less interested in someone who can produce a perfect 40-page requirements document than someone who can understand the problem, challenge unnecessary complexity and get a useful solution into people's hands.
