What you'll do

  • Under direct supervision, helps ensure a safe and healthy work environment through the administration of the Industrial Safety Program.
  • Working with management, provides daily guidance to plant personnel and contractors to ensure Industrial Safety compliance.
  • Establishes and maintains a working relationship with personnel to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards in the workplace
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure hazards are identified and engineering and administrative controls are in place
  • Attend daily pre-job brief for construction activities
  • Maintain communications with site management and contractors to ensure safety coverage is provided during off shift
  • Assists with inspections, analysis and evaluation of planned work, plant facilities, contractor activities, materials, equipment, and other conditions to determine the accident potential
  • Applies state and federal regulations in day-day oversight
  • Responsible for site industrial safety compliance, and has full “stop work” authority for any activity that violates or has a probability of violating these requirements
  • Participates in projects assigned
