Full description from employer

Alpha International runs a Salesforce instance that sits at the heart of how it operates — managing relationships, tracking fundraising activity, and keeping data clean and useful across the organisation. This role is the primary administrator for that instance. We also have a number of other business systems such as our email marketing solution Campaign Monitor, many of which are linked to Salesforce. This role will also be responsible for system administration and change management across these systems.

With a primary focus on Salesforce, but working across our other business systems, you'll work closely with the Head of CRM to keep the platforms healthy, translate business needs into well-built solutions, and make sure people across Alpha International can get genuine value from the tools at their disposal. It's a hands-on configuration and administration role, but it's not a ticket queue. We want someone who notices what's not working before anyone asks, who asks good questions when a brief lands on their desk, and who brings a business analyst's eye to platform work as well as a technical one.

Applications for this role will close on Sunday 4th October. The salary range for this position is between £40,000 - £43,000.

Some of the key responsibilities for this position are:

Platform Administration

  • Administer Salesforce, Campaign Monitor, and related business systems, managing users, permissions, security, and access controls.
  • Oversee data governance, retention, and platform compliance standards.
  • Monitor platform performance and maintain configuration best practices to optimise system effectiveness.

Development and Technical Delivery

  • Design, build, and maintain Salesforce functionality, including automation, custom objects, validation rules, and page layouts.
  • Deliver scalable technical solutions aligned with business requirements and Salesforce best practices.
  • Establish and maintain consistent development, configuration, and naming standards across the platform.

Business Analysis and Solution Design

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenge assumptions, and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Translate requirements into practical, well-scoped Salesforce solutions and provide technical design input.
  • Advise on platform capabilities and champion sustainable, long-term approaches to solution design.

Systems Integration and Data

  • Administer, monitor, and support Salesforce integrations with finance, fundraising, events, giving, and communications systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data synchronisation issues.
  • Collaborate with the Head of CRM on the scoping and implementation of new system integrations.

Connected Systems and Vendor Management

  • Act as the Salesforce point of contact for connected platforms such as FormAssembly and Conga.
  • Support platform administrators with user access, configuration, and day-to-day operational issues.
  • Ensure integrations remain effective and aligned as connected systems evolve and update.

Data Quality and Reporting

  • Monitor and improve data quality, accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to identify data issues, discrepancies, and reporting needs.
  • Support financial reporting and reconciliation requirements in partnership with Finance and Fund Development teams.

User Support, Training, and Change Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for Salesforce support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Deliver user training, guidance, and documentation to drive effective platform adoption.
  • Support change management activities associated with new processes and system enhancements.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain clear documentation of platform changes, configurations, and development decisions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance business processes and Salesforce functionality.
  • Promote continuous improvement through best practice recommendations and system optimisation.

Testing and Release Management

  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.
  • Assist with release and deployment activities in line with CRM governance processes.
  • Ensure all changes are documented, tested, approved, and ready before production release.

Requirements

The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:

  • 2–5 years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience
  • Experience administering Salesforce in an organisation with multiple connected systems and integrations
  • A track record of working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions
  • Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is required or strongly preferred — including the household account model, TDTM (Trigger-Driven Trigger Management), donation and recurring gift management, and data import tooling. If you haven't administered NPSP directly, we'd want to understand how quickly and confidently you pick up new platform configurations in practice
  • Familiarity with connected tools such as Form Assembly, Conga, and Campaign Monitor is a nice-to-have, not a requirement
