Salesforce Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the review and improvement of a Salesforce-based business platform supporting licensing, compliance and operational services within a government environment.

The organisation has recently transitioned from a bespoke business system to Salesforce and is now looking for a Business Analyst to help optimise the platform, improve business processes and ensure the system is effectively supporting users and operational requirements.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can understand business processes, map user journeys and translate business requirements into practical system improvements.

You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement across Salesforce, reporting, dashboards and associated business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing Salesforce processes, workflows and system functionality.
• Engage with staff and key users to understand current processes, pain points and improvement opportunities.
• Analyse business processes, structures and user journeys to identify areas for improvement.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional requirements and practical Salesforce solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality and the overall user experience.
• Support the addition and refinement of Salesforce fields, workflows and functionality.
• Assist with the development and improvement of Salesforce and Power BI dashboards and reporting.
• Review existing reporting and identify opportunities to improve visibility of operational and compliance information.
• Support appropriate user permissions and access controls, with consideration for privacy, data integrity and cybersecurity requirements.
• Ensure proposed solutions integrate effectively with existing departmental systems and processes.
• Work across multiple improvement initiatives while managing changing priorities, scope and deadlines.
• Support the implementation and embedding of agreed process and system improvements.

About You

You will be an experienced Business Analyst with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills and the ability to understand how systems, processes and people interact.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrated experience working as a Business Analyst in a business systems or digital transformation environment.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce, including how business processes and user journeys translate into system functionality.
• Experience analysing and improving business processes.
• Experience gathering requirements and working with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience with Power BI, reporting and dashboards.
• An understanding of data quality, user access, permissions and information security.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and drive practical outcomes.
• Experience within government, regulatory, licensing, compliance, natural resources, agriculture or a similar operational environment will be highly regarded.
