About this role

SCUK Vehicle Inspector

Santander Consumer Finance is one of the UK’s Leading Motor Finance companies and we are currently looking for a Vehicle Inspector to undertake comprehensive vehicle inspections that accurately assess the condition, compliance and roadworthiness of returned vehicles, ensuring they meet BVRLA standards. The role supports the effective management of vehicle remarketing operations by maintaining accurate inspection records, ensuring efficient vehicle movements and compound management. Providing operation support including the collection and delivery of vehicles to customers, dealerships, repair centres and other business locations where required.

This role is based in Milton Keynes.

Please note the closing date for this role will be, end of day, Thursday 27th August.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Vehicle Inspections - To carry our accurate and detailed vehicle inspections in accordance to the BVRLA fair wear and tear criteria. Validate service history, interior condition, tyre tread depths, windscreen condition, bodywork condition, MOT and RFL data. Completed within 72 hours.

  • Maintain Compound & Vehicle Locations - You will be responsible for maintaining the yard, this will involve moving vehicles around the as and when required, ensuring all vehicles are parked correctly and that the system reflects this along with regular stock checks.

  • Off-site Vehicle Inspections - As above however there be occasions where vehicle inspections will need to be completed at the customers locations. Where this is the case CLM will provide transport, fuel and cover any other related expenses.

  • Vehicle Delivery & Collection - From time to time, you may be required to deliver or collect vehicles to and from customers, dealerships, repair centres, auction sites or other business locations. This must be carried out safely, professionally and in accordance with company policies.

  • Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we’re looking for:

  • Full Clean UK Driving License

  • Previous experience in vehicle inspections

  • Knowledge of the BVRLA Fair Wear & Tear Standards is desirable

  • Understanding of vehicle body repair techniques and damage identification is desirable

  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Experience in compund management is desirable
