What you'll do

  • Lead the analysis that helps shape APA’s strategic approach to supplier partnerships, identifying which supply markets matter most, where a differentiated relationship is justified and what supplier capability, commercial pathway and governance model best fits the need.
  • Build and strengthen APA’s understanding of key supply markets, integrating forward demand, supplier capability, capacity, pricing, constraints and emerging opportunities to inform segment priorities and strategic choices.
  • Play a key role in shaping the market and commercial analysis behind major project and sector procurement strategies, translating complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Own and evolve APA’s supplier intelligence and performance approach across OEMs, EPC contractors, specialist contractors and service providers, ensuring evidence is structured, credible and used in strategic, sourcing and governance decisions.
  • Create commercial benchmarks and models across rates, costs and commercial terms to support negotiations, should-cost analysis, gainshare arrangements and informed decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver clear, actionable insights, including leadership dashboards, market reporting, OEM program insights and APA’s annual Infrastructure Delivery market outlook.

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Advisor - Strategic Partnerships to join us in our Strategic Partnerships (Commercial Delivery, Infrastructure Delivery) team Brisbane, QLD or Melbourne, VIC on a Permanent Full Time basis.

Reporting to the Manager – Strategic Partnerships, you will play a key role in developing the strategic direction, intelligence and analytical insights that shape where APA needs differentiated supplier relationships and how it secures, structures and monitors the critical supply chains supporting its capital program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis that helps shape APA’s strategic approach to supplier partnerships, identifying which supply markets matter most, where a differentiated relationship is justified and what supplier capability, commercial pathway and governance model best fits the need.

Working upstream of procurement and sourcing, the team creates the commercial conditions and supplier alignment needed to support Infrastructure Delivery and achieve stronger project outcomes.
