What you'll do
- Define end-to-end baseband architectures and system requirements for 5G evolution and next-generation wireless systems.
- Translate product and algorithm requirements into compute, latency, throughput, memory, power, and acceleration requirements.
- Define functional partitioning and interfaces across Layer 1, DSP, CPU, accelerators, memory, and SoC subsystems.
- Analyze architecture trade-offs in performance, flexibility, complexity, power, and cost.
- Analyze advanced wireless algorithms including Massive MIMO, beamforming, channel estimation, MIMO detection, coding, HARQ, link adaptation, and advanced receivers.
- Translate algorithm workloads into compute, memory, timing, data-flow, and accelerator requirements.
- Perform system-level performance analysis covering throughput, latency, compute utilization, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency.
- Identify system bottlenecks and drive architecture optimization through modeling, simulation, and quantitative analysis.
- Investigate emerging technologies for 5G-Advanced and 6G baseband systems, including advanced PHY architectures, heterogeneous computing, baseband acceleration, memory-centric computing, and energy-efficient architectures.
- Track academic research, standards, industry trends, and competitor developments.
- Evaluate new architecture concepts through system studies and proof-of-concept activities.
- Contribute to long-term baseband technology and architecture roadmaps.

We are seeking a highly accomplished Baseband System Engineer to join Huawei’s Sweden Research Center in Stockholm and contribute to the research, system design, architecture definition, and performance evolution of next-generation wireless baseband systems.
In this role, you will work on advanced baseband system technologies for future wireless RAN products, covering end-to-end system architecture, physical-layer and protocol interactions, system performance analysis, algorithm-to-architecture mapping, and hardware/software co-design.
You will collaborate closely with wireless algorithm researchers, Layer 1 software teams, SoC architects, DSP designers, hardware accelerator teams, and system engineers to define system-level solutions that achieve demanding requirements in capacity, latency, throughput, energy efficiency, and implementation complexity.
Your work will directly contribute to Huawei’s future wireless baseband system architecture, technology roadmap, and next-generation RAN product competitiveness.
Responsibilities

Baseband System Architecture
Define end-to-end baseband architectures and system requirements for 5G evolution and next-generation wireless systems.

Define functional partitioning and interfaces across Layer 1, DSP, CPU, accelerators, memory, and SoC subsystems.

Wireless System & Performance Analysis

Preferred Technical Expertise
