Senior Civil Engineer – Property Division

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in our Property Division, delivering a wide variety of consultancy services to a diverse client base across the UK. From inception through to commissioning, our team provides engineering expertise across multiple sectors – and you’ll be at the heart of it.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Take ownership of challenging projects, leading the preliminary and detailed design of levels, drainage and external works in both public (adoptable) and private realms.

  • Supervise and manage the delivery of multiple projects, occasionally leading small teams with delegated authority from the Team Leader or Principal Engineer.

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with existing clients while showcasing our capabilities to new ones.

  • Mentor and support Graduates and Engineers, while continuing your own professional growth.

  • Lead by example – demonstrating professionalism, diligence and a passion for knowledge-sharing across the team.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with strong technical independence and the ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in Civil Engineering design – particularly in levels, drainage and external works.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D (or PDS with a willingness to train on Civil 3D), MicroDrainage and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience of managing complex projects through planning to completion, liaising with planning authorities, statutory undertakers and national bodies like the Environment Agency.

  • A collaborative mindset, with an understanding of other disciplines and a desire to develop project coordination skills.

  • Commercial awareness, with developing influencing and negotiating skills, plus the ability to nurture new and existing client relationships.

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal – with the adaptability to engage different audiences.

  • The ability to delegate effectively, mentor others and foster a supportive, high-performing team culture.

What we offer

  • Inclusive Culture – Bring your authentic self to work every day.

  • Competitive Rewards – Salary, 5% pension match, life assurance, and long-service recognition.

  • Time Off & Flexibility – 25 days’ holiday (rising to 28), option to buy more, hybrid working (3 days office), and flexible core hours.

  • Health & Wellbeing – Westfield Health, healthcare cash plan, Cycle to Work scheme, wellbeing initiatives.

  • Growth & Development – Fully funded training, Chartership support, and paid professional subscriptions.

  • Community & Connection – Volunteering days, social events, discounts, and savings.
