Senior Cloud Security Consultant - KMS/HMS Options Analysis (SSC/DND)

Overview

Our federal government client is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Consultant to conduct an Options Analysis related to Key Management Services (KMS) and Hardware Management Services (HMS) within the SSC and DND environment.

The successful consultant will have deep expertise in cloud security, encryption, cryptographic key management, and security architecture, and will be responsible for assessing available solutions, identifying risks and constraints, and providing strategic recommendations on KMS/HMS capabilities and implementation approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive options analysis for KMS and HMS capabilities within SSC/DND environments.
• Assess existing and emerging cloud security and encryption technologies.
• Analyze technical, operational, security, and governance considerations associated with KMS/HMS solutions.
• Evaluate feasibility, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations for various approaches.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate assumptions.
• Develop recommendations and decision-support documentation for senior management.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials outlining findings and proposed options.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• Significant experience in Cloud Security and secure cloud architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with Key Management Services (KMS) and cryptographic key management solutions.
• Experience working with Hardware Security Modules (HSM/HMS) or related hardware-based encryption technologies.
• Strong understanding of data encryption, key lifecycle management, and security controls.
• Experience conducting options analyses, assessments, or strategic studies within complex enterprise environments.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.

Asset Qualifications

• Experience supporting SSC, DND, or other Government of Canada organizations.
• Knowledge of federal security standards, cloud governance, and protected/classified environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
