Senior Consultant, AI Engineer

In the role of Senior AI Engineer, you will work closely with the AI Platforms team, contributing to key business priorities and continuously improving how we serve our customers. 

You’ll make an impact each day by: 

• Design, build and deploy AI/Agentic AI solutions (LLMs, prompts, APIs), integrating components into scalable, production-ready platforms
• Execute prompt engineering, including design, implementation, testing and optimisation to improve model performance, quality and consistency
• Develop high-quality, testable and maintainable code, applying CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to integrate solutions and align to enterprise standards (e.g. LLM Gateway, agent frameworks)
• Support monitoring, evaluation and performance tuning of AI solutions, applying guardrails, observability and evaluation frameworks
• Manage data preparation and evaluation processes, including collection, labelling and analysis to inform model improvements
• Stay current with AI advancements (particularly NLP) and apply them pragmatically to improve solutions delivered within squads

You’ll bring to this role: 

• Significant hands-on experience across software, AI and/or data engineering, preferably within financial services.
• Strong Python programming and data manipulation skills, using relevant libraries and frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience building and integrating AI, ML and/or LLM solutions.
• Hands-on experience with NLP techniques and technologies.
• Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets, including data preparation, preprocessing and transformation.
• Experience with cloud and data platforms, such as AWS, Azure and/or Databricks.
• Proven ability to deliver effectively within Agile, cross-functional teams.
