What you'll do

  • Perform thorough investigations using transaction testing, data analysis, funds flow tracing, process walkthroughs and other document reviews
  • Conduct and lead effective confrontational and information gathering interviews in the course of internal investigations or risk assessments
  • Conduct in-depth public domain research in English in connection with engagements
  • Write well-structured reports and proposals in professional English as well as present factual findings to clients
  • Create project teams, set tasks, deliverables and budgets
  • Lead projects to ensure rigorous quality control, compliance with internal policies, and high service delivery
  • Ensure projects are priced, structured and managed effectively to deliver on profit and within target margins
  • Ensure successful completion of the project including prompt invoicing and participating in the collection process
  • Mentor junior members of the team from a technical, professional or project management perspectives
  • Represent Control Risks at events and other business development functions to develop Control Risks' profile in the region
  • Assist with the development of strategies and business plans to expand Control Risks' standing with existing and potential clients in the Southeast Asia region
  • Identify opportunities to differentiate Control Risks' services by applying crisis management, business intelligence and political and country risk methodologies from other practice areas

  • At least 5 years of professional consulting experience, including experience in forensic accounting, investigations and/or compliance
  • Understanding of the complexities of carrying out compliance investigations in the Southeast Asia region
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of operating within a commercial environment
  • Proven track record of successful project management and gaining repeat business from clients
  • Proven experience of successfully building effective and strong client relationships
  • Commercial experience across the Southeast Asia region, and understanding of that market and its specific characteristics in terms of corporate investigation services
  • Minimum undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Strong technical forensic accounting and investigative skills a must
  • Advanced skills in research, business intelligence, analysis and report writing
  • Fluency in English (spoken, written, reading)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Methodical approach and strong project management skills

Nice to have

  • Professional qualifications in legal, accounting and/or finance strongly preferred
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese; other regional languages an advantage

Role purpose

Knowledge and experience

Essential

 At least 5 years of professional consulting experience, including experience in forensic accounting, investigations and/or compliance

 Proven track record of successful project management and gaining repeat business from clients
