Role/Department:
 

The Senior Consultant, Business Analysis is responsible for independently delivering Business Analysis activities for defined projects or workstreams.

The initial assignment will support a major strategic programme involving artificial intelligence, automation and emerging technologies. The role will work with business, product, operations, technology and risk stakeholders to assess opportunities, define requirements and support solutions through testing and implementation.

This is a generalist Business Analysis position. The successful candidate may also support strategic, regulatory, product, data, digital and operational-change initiatives as business priorities evolve.

  • Analyse business problems, opportunities and expected outcomes.
  • Conduct feasibility, process and impact assessments.
  • Assess and document potential AI, automation and technology-enabled use cases.
  • Plan and facilitate requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Elicit, document and validate:
    • business and functional requirements;
    • epics and user stories;
    • acceptance criteria;
    • process and data requirements;
    • business rules and controls;
    • assumptions, risks and dependencies.

  • Translate business needs into clear, structured and testable requirements.
  • Define expected solution outcomes, human-review points and exception processes.
  • Work with business and technology teams to support solution design.
  • Identify process, data, technology, operational and control impacts.
  • Contribute to target operating models, including processes, roles, responsibilities and hand-offs.
  • Support test-scenario development, business testing and defect analysis.
  • Maintain traceability from business need through requirements, testing and implementation.
  • Support pilot planning, implementation readiness, adoption and value measurement.
  • Manage assigned Business Analysis deliverables with limited supervision.
  • Escalate unresolved requirements, risks, dependencies and decisions.
  • Apply established Business Analysis standards, methods and templates.
  • Use approved digital and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis quality and efficiency, with appropriate validation and human review.

Scope and Accountability

  • Independently owns Business Analysis deliverables for a defined project or workstream.
  • Works within an agreed project scope and Business Analysis approach.
  • Manages medium-to-high-complexity requirements and stakeholder groups.
  • Makes recommendations within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Accountable for the quality, completeness and timeliness of own deliverables.
  • Collaborates with other Business Analysts but does not ordinarily direct or quality-review their work.
  • Escalates material cross-workstream issues or strategic decisions.
  • Has no formal people-management or wider Business Analysis functional responsibility.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to convert ambiguous needs into clear, testable requirements.
  • Working knowledge of feasibility analysis, testing and operational readiness.
  • Strong stakeholder-engagement, facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methods.
  • Experience in financial services or another regulated industry is desirable.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence, automation, data or digital products is desirable.
  • Specialist AI-development experience is not required.
  • Business Analysis, Agile or project-delivery qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience using requirements-management, process-modelling or delivery-management tools is advantageous.
