What you'll do

  • Strategic project execution – supporting the delivery of strategic projects including workstream management, problem definition and structuring, collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing updates, and timely execution of deliverables
  • Strategic project tracking – tracking monthly progress on key strategic projects and initiatives for GRS, including preparing reports on progress of GRS OKRs to share with senior leaders
  • Problem solving and analytics – conducting financial and business analysis employing business strategy frameworks, interpreting analytical results, generating insights and recommendations
  • Marketing & business intelligence – following market trends and competitor actions in GRS space, performing market analysis to identify areas of opportunity, and communicating key findings with GRS leaders
  • Communication – preparing and delivering both formal presentations and informal updates for management; presenting results and engaging partners in discussion on executing next steps and implementing the recommendations, as appropriate
  • Support strategy design and development – co-lead delivery of strategy projects across GRS in partnership with GRS partners, cross-BU partners, and Canada Strategy

Job Description:

Sun Life Canada’s Group Retirement Services is a market leader in Capital Accumulation Plans in Canada. Our vision is to become a lifetime savings partner for working Canadians while strengthening and expanding our core group business.

The Senior Consultant, Strategy and Enablement will report directly to the AVP, Strategy and Enablement, and will support leaders in GRS with strategy development, planning, and enablement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Independently conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis
  • Preparing and delivering recommendations on priority strategy questions for GRS
  • Ongoing tracking of strategic initiatives including monthly reporting
  • Engaging senior stakeholders

Success in this role requires critical thinkers with a passion for identifying & solving business problems, effective communicators with experience working with senior leaders, and team players that love to be part of fast-paced teams and can quickly foster relationships with peers in the organization.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
