What you'll do

  • Own the content roadmap and the point of view behind it.
  • Tell the TextExpander story to the broad horizontal audience of people who type the same things over and over, then tell it again — specifically and credibly — to each of the verticals we serve well: healthcare, customer support, legal, insurance, education, and beyond.
  • Decide what gets made, in what format, and why.
  • Build a voice for TextExpander that sounds like us and nobody else.
  • Long- and short-form written work: blog, comparison and category pages, customer stories, product launch narratives.
  • Video: YouTube, product walkthroughs, short-form social cuts.
  • Audio, webinars, and live formats where they fit the audience.
  • Interactive and utility content: templates, Snippet libraries, calculators, teardowns.
  • Direct a bench of freelancers, editors, video editors, and agency partners so output scales past your own capacity.
  • Own the channel mix that puts content in front of people: organic social, email and lifecycle, communities where our audience already lives, syndication, and in-product surfaces.
  • Build a repurposing engine so every substantial asset generates a dozen derivative placements without a dozen briefs.
  • Partner on our creator and PR motion — brief creators, shape sponsored and co-created content, and turn earned coverage into durable assets.

What they're looking for

  • 5+ years in B2B content marketing, including time at a self-serve or product-led SaaS company.
  • A portfolio that shows strong work in more than one medium.
  • A track record of getting content in front of a hard-to-reach audience, and a clear account of what actually moved it.
  • You pull your own numbers, and you know which metrics predict revenue.
  • Experience briefing, editing, and holding a quality bar with freelancers, creators, or agencies.
  • A fast, clean writing hand and strong instincts about what's worth publishing. You use AI well, and the voice stays yours.
  • The team is small and the surface area is large. You'll have a production budget, a freelance bench, and a direct line to leadership — and you'll still be the person deciding what matters this quarter.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on video production or editing
  • A track record with SEO and AEO in a post-AI search world
  • PR experience, and a history of distributing content through earned and third-party channels

Full description from employer

TextExpander is hiring a Senior Content Marketing Manager to own content end to end — production and distribution, in roughly equal measure.

That split is deliberate. You'll decide what gets made, get it made, and own getting it in front of the people it was made for. Reach and downstream revenue are yours, alongside the work itself.

The role is also format-agnostic. Written work matters and will keep mattering, and so do video, short-form social, audio, webinars, interactive tools, templates, and the Snippet libraries that may be our most underused content asset. You'll decide which format an idea deserves and then get it made — sometimes with your own hands, sometimes through the freelancers, creators, and agency partners you direct.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy. Own the content roadmap and the point of view behind it. Tell the TextExpander story to the broad horizontal audience of people who type the same things over and over, then tell it again — specifically and credibly — to each of the verticals we serve well: healthcare, customer support, legal, insurance, education, and beyond. Decide what gets made, in what format, and why. Build a voice for TextExpander that sounds like us and nobody else.

Multi-Format Production. Long- and short-form written work: blog, comparison and category pages, customer stories, product launch narratives. Video: YouTube, product walkthroughs, short-form social cuts. Audio, webinars, and live formats where they fit the audience. Interactive and utility content: templates, Snippet libraries, calculators, teardowns. Direct a bench of freelancers, editors, video editors, and agency partners so output scales past your own capacity.

Distribution. Own the channel mix that puts content in front of people: organic social, email and lifecycle, communities where our audience already lives, syndication, and in-product surfaces. Build a repurposing engine so every substantial asset generates a dozen derivative placements without a dozen briefs. Partner on our creator and PR motion — brief creators, shape sponsored and co-created content, and turn earned coverage into durable assets. Work alongside our Director of Search Experience so content is strong enough to win organic and AI answer surfaces, and distributed well enough to earn the signals that get it there.

Measurement and Revenue Ownership. Own the numbers all the way down: reach, trial starts, activations, purchases, and revenue attributed to content. Report on content-sourced and content-influenced pipeline. Use HubSpot, Sigma, Mixpanel, and Ahrefs to show what's working, retire what isn't, and forecast against your targets. Report to the VP of Marketing and senior leadership on the channel's contribution.

Minimum Qualifications

Content Marketing Experience. 5+ years in B2B content marketing, including time at a self-serve or product-led SaaS company.

Range. A portfolio that shows strong work in more than one medium.

Distribution Chops. A track record of getting content in front of a hard-to-reach audience, and a clear account of what actually moved it.

Data Fluency. You pull your own numbers, and you know which metrics predict revenue.

Directing Others. Experience briefing, editing, and holding a quality bar with freelancers, creators, or agencies.

Editorial Judgment. A fast, clean writing hand and strong instincts about what's worth publishing. You use AI well, and the voice stays yours.

Self-Direction. The team is small and the surface area is large. You'll have a production budget, a freelance bench, and a direct line to leadership — and you'll still be the person deciding what matters this quarter.

Nice-to-Haves

Why TextExpander

TextExpander is an established SaaS company with a long track record and a loyal customer base. We're a lean, fully remote team of around 50 people, trusted by teams at Amazon, Uber, Shopify, and Dropbox, and backed by Summit Partners.

You'll have the autonomy to build the content and distribution engine from scratch, enough proximity to leadership to see your work shape real decisions, a flexible schedule, and a team small enough that what you build genuinely matters.
