Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist to join a major projects team supporting the execution of a significant mining infrastructure project. Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD with intermittent site travel possibly required Start date: ASAP Duration: approx. 12 months - depending on client requirements Pay Rate: $90.00 p/h + Super depending on experience Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered and contacted. The Role: This is a project execution-focused contracts position, rather than a procurement or category management role. You will work within a small contracts and procurement team, administering construction contracts and working closely with contractors and internal project stakeholders throughout project delivery. The position is primarily Perth based, with intermittent travel to site. Working on a live major project, you will be responsible for contract administration and commercial support across SMP and Civil construction work packages. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Administer construction contracts throughout project execution and close-out - Develop, coordinate and evaluate tender packages for construction works and services - Manage contractual correspondence, notices and contractor communications - Assess contractor payment claims, variations and Extension of Time (EOT) claims - Review construction programs and understand contractual schedule impacts - Negotiate commercial terms, conditions and pricing - Develop detailed pricing schedules, methods of measure and rules of credit - Identify and assess contractual and commercial risks - Provide commercial reports and advice to support project decision-making - Identify opportunities to deliver cost savings and commercial value - Work closely with engineering, legal, quality, project controls and logistics stakeholders - Support and mentor junior team members where required Relevant Experience: - 5+ years' experience in construction contract administration within mining or civil construction - Strong SMP and Civil contracts experience - Demonstrated experience administering contracts on live project execution - Both client-side and contractor-side experience - Strong experience working directly with construction contractors - Previous experience managing construction contracts from tender through execution to close-out - Demonstrated experience assessing payment claims, variations and EOT claims - Strong understanding of construction programs and contractual requirements - PIMS experience - Excellent attention to detail, organisation and stakeholder management skills - Ability to manage multiple work packages and competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment - Ability to work autonomously as part of a small, collaborative team - Flexibility to attend site intermittently as required If you are interested in the role and fit the criteria, please apply online today!
