  • Lead the design, review and integration of PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial network systems using Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate external control systems consultants, system integrators and vendors, ensuring alignment between PLC, SCADA, industrial network and OEM control system workstreams and driving technical integration across the project.
  • Provide technical leadership and review of control philosophies, functional specifications, network architectures and other engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate interfaces between control systems and electrical, mechanical, thermal generation, solar, BESS and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities to ensure successful project delivery
  • Ensure control system documentation, software configuration, testing records and handover deliverables are completed to the required standard

Job Overview

Aggreko is seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to join the Eva Copper Project team in Brisbane and support the delivery of one of Australia's largest hybrid power generation facilities.
 

The project combines thermal generation, solar, BESS, industrial communications networks and balance-of-plant infrastructure. Reporting to the Project Engineering Lead, you will provide technical leadership across control system design, integration, testing, commissioning and engineering assurance.
 

The role includes both hands-on engineering and technical oversight of consultants and vendors delivering PLC, SCADA and industrial network systems. The primary PLC platform is Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley.


Experience with hybrid power plants, renewables, BESS, microgrids and diesel or gas generation will be highly regarded.

Travel and Site Requirements

This role requires frequent travel to vendor facilities and remote project sites for FATs, SATs, integration testing, site inspections and commissioning activities.
During key pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, the role will operate on a 2 weeks on / 1 week off site roster.
Candidates must be willing and able to travel regularly and work at remote locations as required.
