We need a Senior Data Engineer to spearhead migration from SQL Server to AWS Redshift. This role focuses on building production-grade models using dbt Core and mentoring the team through the implementation process. You will be responsible for defining a dbt project architecture and establishing best practices to ensure a scalable, high-performance reporting environment.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in dbt Core (experience establishing best practices, structuring models, and running dbt in production).
• Deep knowledge of AWS Redshift and columnar database optimization.
• Strong SQL proficiency: ability to read and understand legacy T-SQL (SQL Server) logic and rewrite it into modern Redshift SQL.
• At least Upper-Intermediate level of English

Nice to have skills

• Familiarity with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) is a nice-to-have, as some of the client’s reporting layer still interacts with it.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain dbt models leveraging existing Redshift pipelines
• Analyze, deconstruct, and migrate legacy T-SQL stored procedures into modular, optimized Redshift SQL models using dbt.
• Architect the dbt project structure and provide technical guidance on data modeling strategies to the internal engineering team.
• Execute and optimize batch data transformation workflows within Redshift.
