Senior Data Management Specialist (Pune - India)

Senior Data Management Specialist will primarily focus on Master Data Product Hierarchy which responsible for managing, analyzing, and maintaining the product hierarchy and master data within the organization’s systems. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of product-related data, supporting business operations such as sales, supply chain, inventory management, and reporting. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and drives continuous improvement in master data governance.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain and update the product hierarchy structure in master data management systems according to business rules and standards.

  • Validate and ensure data quality and accuracy of product master data, including classifications attributes, and categorizations.

  • Collaborate with product managers, supply chain, IT, Finance and other stakeholders to align product hierarchy with business needs.

  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies or inconsistencies related to product hierarchies.

  • Support data governance initiatives and compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.

  • Generate reports, reconciliation and analytics related to product hierarchy data for business insights and decision making.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of tools and processes for efficient master data management.

  • Participate in data migration, clean up and system upgrade projects related to product data.

  • Document data standards, processes, and procedures to maintain knowledge base and training materials.

What will you need to be successful?

  • 5 years’ experience in data management and/or governance.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Fluent in English

  • Proven experience in master data management, preferably in product data or hierarchy management.

  • A good understanding of data management principles and best practice.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good interpersonal skills – ability to build good relationships with virtual teams and senior leadership

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Advanced Excel skills, strong data analysis skills attention to detail

  • Ability to work across multiple source system including various SAP versions and Axapta.

  • Have a working knowledge of core data / analysis tools like SNOW, Eflow, PTC Windchill, Syndigo, Alation, Winshuttle, SAP SQVI

  • Proficiency with master data management systems (e.g., SAP MDG, Informatica MDM) and data visualization/reporting tools.
