Walmart is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytical techniques and data science expertise to drive business insights and solutions. This role involves identifying and sourcing relevant data, developing and validating predictive models, and deploying scalable analytical solutions. About the team:
Join Walmart’s Supply Chain Finance team, where advanced analytics power solutions for over 295 million customers globally. The team develops and enhances the Supply Chain Labor Optimization platform, managing millions of records daily to improve labor allocation across fulfillment and distribution centers. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, the team applies predictive analytics, machine learning, and data visualization to deliver actionable insights. This dynamic environment encourages continuous learning and innovation, enabling members to address complex challenges and contribute to Walmart’s operational excellence and strategic growth.

What you'll do...

• Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
• Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and apply statistical methods to generate actionable business insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Create clear and effective data visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.
• Support scalability and sustainability of deployed models through continuous evaluation and tuning.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in data science and advanced statistical methods to develop and validate predictive models.
• Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, data mining, and exploratory data analysis.
• Expertise in data source identification, quality assessment, and database technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
• Ability to deploy, scale, and maintain analytical models in production environments.
• Solid understanding of business context to translate requirements into actionable data solutions.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve business goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
