Senior Digital Matte Painting ( DMP ) Artist - Contract

POSITION SUMMARY:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing highly realistic matte paintings that seamlessly integrate with live-action footage or CG elements.
• Creating visually stunning compositions while applying a deep understanding of color theory and perspective.
• Employing advanced 2D and 2.5D projection techniques to achieve realistic depth in digital environments.
• Collaborating closely with the Compositing, 3D, and other 2D departments to ensure artistic consistency.
• Working within Nuke compositing software to implement matte paintings into the final production pipeline.
• Utilizing Shotgrid (Shotgun) daily for effective project management, task tracking, and asset organization.
• Managing individual workflows effectively to meet strict project deadlines within a high-pressure environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working on high-end film or episodic TV VFX projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Photoshop with a strong portfolio showcasing realistic environment creation.
• Extensive knowledge of DMP workflows, including sophisticated 2.5D projection setups in Nuke.
• Familiarity with Shotgrid (Shotgun) for asset tracking and production management.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
• Strong time management abilities and a dedication to delivering high-quality visual work under deadlines.
• Solid understanding of composition principles, lighting, and cinematic storytelling.
