What you'll do

  • Drive execution of systems integration activities for Flow Cytometry system, coordinating interfaces and interactions across microfluidics, acoustics, optics, electronics, firmware/software and other applicable subsystems.
  • Plan and perform hands-on engineering testing for feasibility studies, concept evaluation, integration checkout, troubleshooting and sustaining investigations.
  • Execute controlled system configurations and integrated workflows; identify interface, timing, performance and cross-subsystem issues that may not be visible during standalone subsystem testing.
  • Lead structured integration issue triage and root-cause investigations by reproducing, isolating and characterizing failures, analyzing evidence, and working with appropriate design and test teams through resolution.
  • Analyze experimental and test data using appropriate statistical and engineering methods; identify trends, variation and failure mechanisms and translate results into clear technical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Assess integration coverage, identify test or interface gaps, and support development of test methods, acceptance criteria and requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Perform technical risk and integration-impact assessments for sustaining changes, field issues and design modifications, and support risk-retirement testing and investigations.
  • Support feasibility studies and proof-of-concept activities to evaluate new concepts, critical performance parameters and interface assumptions.
  • Maintain clear integration configuration, test results, known issues, residual risks and readiness evidence, and support handoff of an integration-ready system to formal V&V.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, subsystem designers, Technical Leads, Hardware/Software/Embedded Test, V&V, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Service teams.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Bioengineering, Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific discipline.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, design engineering, integration engineering or test engineering within new product development or sustaining engineering.
  • Demonstrated hands-on test experience with complex instruments, electromechanical systems or multidisciplinary products.
  • Systems integration experience is preferred. Candidates without direct integration experience must demonstrate strong systems thinking, learning agility, curiosity, and the ability to understand interactions and dependencies across multiple subsystems.
  • Strong test engineering fundamentals, including test strategy and method development, experimental design, acceptance criteria, data analysis, statistical interpretation, troubleshooting and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with root-cause analysis and engineering risk assessment such as FMEA or equivalent methods.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering/product-development practices, including requirements, interfaces, traceability, design controls and verification concepts.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience in life-science or analytical instrumentation, flow cytometry, or direct experience with the Attune platform or its microfluidic, acoustic or optical subsystems.
