Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on operational stability, VMware and Windows infrastructure, capacity management, automation, patching, compliance, monitoring, and technical leadership.

The engineer will work closely with architects, operations, security, and other technology teams while providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations

  • Manage Incidents, Tasks, Problems, and Change Requests in alignment with ITIL processes.
  • Lead technical activities during Major Incident Management (MIM) calls and support timely service recovery.
  • Ensure SLA adherence and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting, escalation support, and mentorship to team members.

VMware & Windows Infrastructure

  • Manage and support VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and VxRail environments.

Cloud Infrastructure

  • Work with architects on cloud implementation, migration, optimization, governance, security, and reliability.
  • Support hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.

Automation & Optimization

  • Automate repetitive operational activities using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting technologies.
  • Automate provisioning, health checks, monitoring, patching, compliance validation, and reporting.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous service improvement and reduce manual operational effort.

Patch Management & Compliance

  • Plan and execute Windows Server patching across enterprise environments.
  • Maintain patch compliance, vulnerability, exception, and remediation dashboards.
  • Automate patch deployment, validation, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets security, compliance, vulnerability management, and audit requirements.

Monitoring, Backup & Recovery

  • Support enterprise monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability platforms.
  • Maintain dashboards for infrastructure availability, health, performance, and capacity.
  • Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and remediation activities.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure migrations, upgrades, technology refreshes, and transformation initiatives.
  • Work with architects and technical teams on infrastructure standards and operational improvements.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and act as a technical escalation point.
  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and maintain strong technical documentation.

  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation supporting 24x7 enterprise operations.
