THE ROLE

Biglight's Experience Designers help organisations solve complex customer and business challenges through research, strategy and design. From shaping journeys and defining product experiences to creating wireframes, prototypes and service concepts, we turn insight into solutions that deliver measurable impact.

Our Experience Design team brings together UX, research and strategy specialists who care deeply about creating products and services that work for both customers and businesses. We collaborate across disciplines to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes for some of the world's leading brands.

As a Senior Experience Designer, you'll play a key role in translating customer insight into products, services and experiences. You'll lead research and design activities, own significant workstreams, facilitate workshops and work directly with clients to shape decisions and drive progress.

Using user-centred design methods, you'll balance customer, business and delivery needs to create experiences that are intuitive, effective and commercially valuable.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Work on complex, high-impact projects

You'll work closely with clients across a range of transformation initiatives, owning key workstreams from discovery through to delivery. Whether facilitating workshops, shaping UX or influencing stakeholder decisions, you'll play a central role in delivering meaningful outcomes.

See your ideas come to life

At Biglight, your work will have real, measurable impact. You'll help shape products, services and experiences that drive value for our clients, turning insight into solutions that improve customer outcomes and support business goals.

Grow with us

You'll continue to deepen your expertise across research, UX design and strategy, working alongside experienced practitioners on complex challenges. You'll have opportunities to mentor more junior team members and take increasing ownership of client relationships and project delivery.

SKILLS WE ADMIRE

Curious and insightful

You love uncovering the behaviours, motivations and needs that drive great experiences, and can translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations.

Strong opinions, loosely held

You bring confidence and expertise to discussions, presenting your thinking clearly and influencing clients and stakeholders while remaining open to challenge and new perspectives.

Collaborative and creative

You enjoy working across disciplines to solve complex problems and create meaningful experiences. You're an excellent communicator who understands that great design is as much about clarity and storytelling as it is about interaction and visuals.

Organised and self-motivated

You can navigate ambiguity, make informed decisions and turn loosely defined problems into actionable work. You bring critical thinking and a proactive approach to moving work forward.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Planning and conducting user research

  • Determine when research is needed and plan and deliver the most appropriate approach, including customer interviews, usability testing, surveys and stakeholder discovery sessions.
  • Analyse qual/quantitative data to uncover needs, behaviours, pain points and opportunities.
  • Translate research findings into clear insights and recommendations that inform product, service and experience decisions.

Experience and service design

  • Create UX design deliverables including user flows, wireframes, customer journey maps, service blueprints, prototypes and A/B test approaches.
  • Combine customer research, data and business insight to identify opportunities and shape effective, commercially valuable experiences, whether optimising journeys or shaping entirely new propositions and services, recommending pragmatic MVP solutions where appropriate.
  • Champion user-centred principles, working closely with product and development teams to navigate technical and operational constraints and ensure successful implementation.

Client collaboration

  • Lead workshops, client discussions and design reviews, confidently presenting your design recommendations and facilitating decision-making.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders and embed customer-centred thinking.
  • In some engagements, act as a UX leader within a dedicated client account, helping shape priorities and delivery direction.

Strategic thinking

  • Translate insight into practical solutions, experience strategies and service improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products, services and customer journeys, helping clients frame problems, prioritise opportunities and connect user needs with business outcomes, even when the solution extends beyond digital experiences alone.
  • Contribute to the development of product roadmaps and transformation plans.

Team collaboration and development

  • Work closely with colleagues across strategy, design and development disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to Associate and Midweight Experience Designers, helping to maintain quality and consistency across UX deliverables.
  • Support the development of junior team members through coaching, collaboration and sharing best practice.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • 5+ years' experience, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise across user research, UX and service design, and evidence of delivering measurable outcomes for clients.
  • Proven ability to plan and lead research activities, facilitate workshops and translate insight into effective product, service and UX solutions.
  • Strong experience using tools such as Figma, Miro and other digital collaboration platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to present recommendations and influence decision-making at multiple levels.
