Conduct advanced financial analysis and lead finance activities across close-cycle reporting, management reporting, planning / forecasting, allocations, governance, and issue resolution. The role applies strong finance process knowledge to produce meaningful analysis, executive-ready materials, and practical recommendations while driving reporting consistency, control discipline, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.

CUSTOMER

• Analyze supported business area performance against plan, prior year, forecast, business cases, and other reference points; investigate and clearly communicate variances, drivers, emerging risks, and required actions
• Provide financial insight and guidance to Finance Management, business partners, and stakeholders on reporting, accounting, operational, allocation, reconciliation, control, and close-cycle processes
• Use knowledge of business strategies, financial drivers, treasury / liquidity impacts, stress testing, and operating inputs to produce analysis, dashboards, reporting views, and executive-ready materials
• Drive financial information requests to timely completion across the Finance team, business finance teams, treasury partners, governance and control partners, central finance teams, auditors, and other stakeholders
• Lead analysis and independently advance due diligence and implementation for initiatives, methodology changes, restructures, or other business changes within scope
• Partner with finance operations, specialized finance, treasury, technology, and other teams to identify, champion, and implement improvements to report production, system queries, process mapping, action tracking, and recurring analysis

SHAREHOLDER

• Adhere to applicable enterprise frameworks, finance methodologies, accounting guidance, control expectations, and governance requirements
• Ensure assigned processes, reports, and practices meet business needs, comply with requirements, and align with priorities
• Identify and investigate data, reporting, reconciliation, allocation, analytics, risk, governance, and control issues; drive remediation through resolution, escalation, and closure
• Exercise discretion in managing sensitive financial information, correspondence, deliverables, and confidential matters
• Conduct research and financial analysis to support reporting, planning, presentations, communications, recommendations, and stakeholder discussions
• Represent Finance and actively contribute to cross-functional, enterprise, or business / finance initiatives by identifying financial, operational, control, reporting, and regulatory risks
• Proactively assess assigned processes and champion service, productivity, efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement opportunities
• Manage relationships across Finance, business lines, corporate functions, treasury partners, governance and control partners, and central finance teams to support enterprise and regulatory alignment
• Stay current on reporting issues, business changes, accounting considerations, treasury / liquidity drivers, and regulatory expectations while maintaining a risk-based control mindset

• Provide thought leadership and practical expertise in reporting governance, close-cycle execution, planning / forecasting, allocations, data quality, and executive narrative support
• Keep current on finance reporting practices, control expectations, business priorities, tools, and techniques; participate in development and cross-training
• Proactively communicate deliverable status, project progress, risks, decisions, dependencies, and recommended actions
• Strengthen team capability by sharing knowledge, documenting processes, supporting peers, and leveraging best practices
• Build productive partner relationships and act as a brand ambassador for the Finance function and the bank

BREADTH & DEPTH

• SME business partner / professional role requiring in-depth finance, management reporting, close-cycle, and specialty-area knowledge
• Researches and resolves complex financial accounting, audit, operational, reporting, reconciliation, allocation, data quality, and control issues
• Requires advanced finance knowledge, including analysis, reporting controls, planning / forecasting, allocation methodologies, source systems, and close-cycle procedures
• Drives coordination across Finance, treasury partners, business, technology, governance and control partners, and support areas; builds stakeholder alignment on workstreams and process improvements
• Performs advanced analysis or specialized work across recurring deliverables, governance, process improvement, and business support
• Integrates organizational context, business drivers, policies, standards, and analysis results to inform advice and senior-level decisions
• Acts as a subject matter expert and resource for others; promotes standards, strengthens documentation, improves processes, and embeds best practices
• Solves complex problems involving multiple variables and stakeholders; impacts work across own and related teams
• Works independently as a senior technical contributor, takes end-to-end ownership of deliverables, anticipates issues and stakeholder needs, and provides clear, well-supported advice to senior stakeholders
• Generally reports to a Manager or above

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of relevant finance experience in management reporting, financial analysis, planning / forecasting, allocations, governance, controls, reconciliations, data quality, or close-cycle execution
• Accounting designation preferred; executive reporting, allocation methodology, earnings driver, balance sheet / economic impact, source system, and issue-resolution experience is an asset

 

 

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
