Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer - Webfuse
About this role
Webfuse is Surfly’s browser-based platform for securely adding functionality, automation, and collaboration to existing web applications without changing their source code. It combines JavaScript sandboxing with proxy infrastructure, creating unusual engineering challenges across browser APIs, web security, real-time communication, and distributed systems.
As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will join our Product Engineering team in Amsterdam. This is a genuinely full-stack role: projects regularly cross frontend and backend boundaries.
You will own production features from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and maintenance. Your work will include a mix of:
Building in-session interfaces and tools using TypeScript and Vue.js
Developing APIs and backend services using Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Node.js, and Go
Building real-time collaboration features using WebSockets and WebRTC
Developing browser automation, in-session extensions, and security controls
Building integrations with customer and partner systems
Developing MCP and WebMCP capabilities that allow AI agents to interact with Webfuse sessions
Testing, debugging, deployment, and production maintenance are part of owning a feature - not separate responsibilities handed to another team.
We expect you to bring deep expertise in at least one part of the stack and to contribute confidently across the wider platform. As part of a small engineering team, you will have direct influence over technical decisions and how features are built.
Our team is international and English is our working language. This is an office-first hybrid role: you will work from our Amsterdam office four days per week, with the option to work from home one day per week.
Candidates must currently be based in the Netherlands. Surfly can provide or transfer Dutch visa sponsorship.

Professional experience with server-side development and TypeScript-based frontend development
Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs or backend services
Strong engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, debugging, code review, Git, and maintainable software design
The ability to investigate complex problems across browser, frontend, and backend systems
A track record of owning software beyond its initial implementation, including rollout, debugging, and production maintenance
Clear written and verbal communication in English
Currently based in the Netherlands and able to work from our Amsterdam office four days per week
A GitHub profile containing publicly viewable code that you wrote
