Senior Geologist -15 Years

About this role

Experience: Minimum 15 years

Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Geology or a closely related field

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct comprehensive studies of water sources, aquifers, and their contribution to lakes and surrounding ecosystems based on available reports and field investigations.

* Analyze and prepare detailed geological profiles of lakes, catchment areas, and associated landforms.

* Assess the geological stability of landmasses within the project area using existing studies, surveys, and field data.

* Develop and maintain inventories of land use patterns based on geological and stability assessments.

* Identify geological hazards and recommend mitigation measures for unstable landforms in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including tourism development, environmental, social, infrastructure, and planning experts.

* Engage with government agencies, local communities, and other key stakeholders to gather data and support project implementation.

* Support the preparation of master plans by integrating geological considerations into land-use and infrastructure planning.

* Work closely with the Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader to ensure timely delivery of project objectives.

* Contribute to technical reports, presentations, maps, and documentation related to geological assessments.

Desired Skills and Competencies

* Strong understanding of hydrogeology, geomorphology, land stability analysis, and environmental geology.

* Experience in GIS applications, geological mapping, and interpretation of geospatial data.

* Knowledge of watershed management, aquifer studies, and sustainable resource planning.

* Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

* Proven experience in handling at least two master planning projects is preferred.

Preferred Project Experience

* Experience working on regional plans, master plans, tourism development projects, or environmental impact assessments.

* Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
