We are seeking experienced Senior ICT Project Managers to lead the delivery of strategic technology initiatives within a large Federal Government environment.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in managing ICT investment priorities, infrastructure refresh programs, procurement activities, and financial governance initiatives while working across a broad portfolio of critical technology projects.

About the Role

As a Senior ICT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering complex ICT projects and programs. You will provide strategic advice on technology investments, procurement, vendor management, and financial performance while ensuring projects are delivered in line with organisational objectives.

Working closely with business, finance, procurement, architecture, and ICT stakeholders, you will help drive effective governance, budget management, and program outcomes across a large and complex ICT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery, and governance of ICT projects and programs.
• Manage ICT operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, accruals, and reporting.
• Provide strategic sourcing, procurement, and commercial advice for technology initiatives.
• Support vendor negotiations, contract renewals, and commercial strategy development.
• Conduct commercial risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain project reporting, dashboards, and executive-level documentation.
• Contribute to investment planning, infrastructure refresh programs, and portfolio governance activities.
• Develop procurement documentation and support sourcing activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on ICT investments, costs, risks, and opportunities.
• Lead program performance reporting, benefits realisation tracking, and financial governance activities.
• Support capability uplift and knowledge transfer initiatives across teams.

Required Experience

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Extensive experience delivering complex ICT projects and programs within large enterprise or government environments.
• Strong financial management experience, including ICT operating and capital budget management.
• Experience with forecasting, cost analysis, expenditure reporting, and financial governance.
• Strong procurement, contract management, and vendor engagement experience.
• Proven ability to develop commercial strategies and participate in vendor negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level.
• Experience providing strategic advice within complex ICT environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, software licensing, workforce planning, and ICT operations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Regarded

• Experience in ICT cost optimisation, cost transparency, or FinOps initiatives.
• Experience establishing governance frameworks and controls for ICT expenditure management.
• Experience within Federal Government environments.
• Demonstrated people leadership and team management experience.
• Experience in performance management and quality assurance frameworks.
