What you'll do
- Design and optimize Layer 1 / Physical Layer software for 5G evolution and next-generation wireless systems.
- Develop real-time uplink and downlink baseband processing software.
- Translate wireless algorithms into efficient implementations for embedded and heterogeneous baseband platforms.
- Contribute to software architecture, module interfaces, data flow, and execution pipeline design.
- Implement and optimize key PHY functions, including channel estimation, MIMO detection and precoding, beamforming, OFDM, synchronization, LDPC/Polar coding, HARQ, and Massive MIMO processing.

- Collaborate with DSP, SoC, accelerator, compiler, and hardware teams to optimize Layer 1 workloads for target platforms.
- Analyze workload characteristics and derive processor, memory, interconnect, and accelerator requirements.
- Contribute to hardware/software partitioning and evaluation of new processor instructions, accelerators, and memory architectures.
- Investigate advanced PHY technologies and computing architectures for 5G-Advanced and 6G.

We are seeking a highly skilled L1 Software Engineer to join Huawei’s Sweden Research Center in Stockholm and contribute to the research, architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation wireless baseband systems.
In this role, you will work on advanced Layer 1 (Physical Layer) software technologies for future wireless RAN systems. You will be responsible for translating advanced wireless algorithms into highly efficient real-time software implementations running on heterogeneous baseband computing platforms, including DSPs, CPUs, ASIC accelerators, and other specialized processing architectures.
You will collaborate closely with wireless algorithm researchers, SoC architects, DSP designers, compiler experts, and system engineers to develop high-performance and energy-efficient Layer 1 solutions for next-generation wireless communication systems.
Your work will directly contribute to Huawei's future wireless baseband architecture, software platform, and product competitiveness.
Responsibilities

Layer 1 Software Development
Design and optimize Layer 1 / Physical Layer software for 5G evolution and next-generation wireless systems.
