What you'll do

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial and employment agreements, including senior agent employment agreements, agent consultancy agreements, service agreements, introducer agreements, partnership agreements and NDAs.
  • Working in collaboration with the Finance team to draft and negotiate complex and detailed bonus and commission structures.
  • Working closely with People and Finance teams and business stakeholders on sensitive issues and providing strategic advice (including instructing specialist external legal counsel when needed).
  • Assistance with acquisitions in accordance with business needs and other strategic transactions including drafting and negotiating acqui-hire agreements, bid letters and letters of intent, reviewing due diligence reports and transaction documents, managing external legal counsel and assisting with integration matters.
  • Advising on regional compliance requirements, including anti-bribery, AML, data protection and international sanctions (including instructing external specialist counsel where required).
  • Overseeing the drafting, review and negotiation of talent representation agreements, endorsement agreements and appearance agreements for the Golf and Action Sports divisions.
  • Managing disputes, litigation oversight and debt recovery matters where required.
  • Updating legal templates.
  • Working closely with US/Global legal colleagues and instructing external specialist lawyers across our global network in accordance with business needs.

Purpose: to act as a senior legal partner to THE.TEAM’s Corporate Talent Representation business in EMEA & APAC, providing advice across commercial, corporate, employment and compliance matters. The role will be supervised by the Associate General Counsel, Corporate Talent and will involve acting as a key legal adviser and escalation point for senior stakeholders within the Corporate team and Talent Representation divisions across EMEA and APAC, working on complex and strategically important matters, including a broad range of commercial agreements, senior Talent agent employment agreements, acquisitions, governance, disputes and compliance.

Reporting: the position will report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate Talent and will be based in London, working closely with legal and business colleagues across EMEA, APAC and the US.

Duties:
