About this role

Our client, a growing medical device manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Line Equipment Technician to provide high-level technical support within its cleanroom manufacturing operation.

This is a permanent, on-site position offering a base salary of up to €48,000, depending on experience, plus a 20% shift premium and additional benefits.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm–12:00am

  • Friday: 2:15pm–8:15pm

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will act as the technical subject-matter expert for automated manufacturing equipment on the evening shift. You will take ownership of complex equipment issues, support production continuity and lead improvement work aimed at increasing equipment reliability and line performance.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong electrical fault-finding ability and previous experience maintaining automated equipment in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment faults.

  • Lead root-cause investigations into recurring or high-impact equipment failures.

  • Implement permanent engineering solutions rather than short-term equipment fixes.

  • Analyse equipment downtime data and present trends, findings and corrective action plans.

  • Complete planned preventive maintenance activities and improve PM procedures where required.

  • Lead equipment improvement and line-stability projects.

  • Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop concepts and prototypes for jigs, fixtures and production tooling.

  • Use 3D printing and other prototyping methods to assess tooling ideas before machining.

  • Ensure tooling, fixtures and equipment spares are available and maintained in suitable working condition.

  • Complete daily equipment checks and review machine settings and work methods.

  • Provide technical guidance to production employees and support the onboarding of new technicians.

  • Maintain accurate equipment, maintenance and manufacturing documentation.

  • Communicate equipment issues, technical findings and resolution plans clearly to engineering and production stakeholders.

  • Work in accordance with all applicable quality, safety and GMP requirements.

Requirements

  • Level 7 qualification in an engineering or technical discipline.

  • At least five years’ experience as an Equipment Technician, Process Technician or in a comparable technical role within medical device manufacturing or a controlled-environment room.

  • Three to five years’ experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment.

  • Strong practical electrical fault-finding experience is essential.

  • Proven ability to diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience conducting structured root-cause investigations.

  • A strong continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset.

  • Experience developing or modifying production tooling, jigs or fixtures.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical drawing packages such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

  • Ability to prepare clear technical reports and maintain accurate documentation.

  • Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.

An interest in building, repairing, prototyping, electronics, mechanics or other technically focused projects would be an advantage.
