Job role

 Are you an Mainframe expert with focus System Performance and Capacity? Do you speak zOS?

We’re looking for our Mainframe Environment for a System Engineer to:

• propose and implement systems enhancements
• monitor usage and performance, and troubleshoot mainframe system
• evaluate complexity and feasibility of new or changed system configurations
• work closely with the SME of Batch, Online, DB and Storage to avoid production Incidents
• run, plan and create reports to observe potential bottlenecks in system performance and capacity
• analyze outages and defective states, initiating and monitoring measures to remedy them

Your team 

Infrastructure Core is a global organization within Group Technology Infrastructure & Security Engineering providing technology platforms to underpin our partners business applications. You will be part of the Mainframe Software Service team, which has a global footprint and works with clients and wider team members spread across the world. Together we drive consistency across business divisions and optimize operations and support costs, by providing timely, robust, cost effective solutions and products to our clients

 

You’ll be working in the performance and integration services tea. We provide application integration support, system performance and capacity operations services. As a Mainframe Performance and Capacity Engineer, you’ll play an important role in for the stability and performance of our mainframes. Team work is pivotal to our success, it plays a very important role. We offer flexibility in the workplace and equal opportunities to all our team members.

 

Mandatory Technical Skills

• ideally 10 years of experience working a large and complex mainframe environment, financial sector background would be a plus
• Strong experience with performance monitoring and capacity management in a multi-CEC & Sysplex environment
• Strong knowledge of WLM, RMF, SMF
• Experience with IBM SCRT and Reporting Systems
• Advanced use of REXX, SQL and Excel
• university degree computer science, management information systems or professional certifications
• a committed and visionary team player with a logical mind-set (you can solve problems like nobody’s business)
• excellent communicator, able to adapt style and detail to the audience
• motivated, self-directed and driven
• fluent in English
