Senior Manager/Manager, Purchasing

SUMMARY OF POSITION:   

Help us build the DNA of tech. Vishay is seeking a full-time Senior Manager, purchasing to lead and drive operational excellence, planning and executing the timely procurement for material, parts and services needed to fulfill the production plan at one or more assigned location. 

Primary Responsibilities 

•  Developing and maintaining working relations with suppliers assigned.  

• Monitoring stock and inventories of local warehouses, and planning quantities of parts and materials needed, with respect to production and delivery plans.  

• Negotiating contracts and specific conditions for delivery of parts, materials or services. 
  Ensuring timely procurement and order management to ensure parts and materials are appropriately delivered  

• Ensuring supplier performance reporting, announcing and clarifying claims, if necessary 
  A job at this level. 

• Leads mid-volume local procurement unit to buy assigned full scope of parts, materials and services for the plant(s) or site(s) assigned  

• Contributes to the superior plans and related budgets.  

• Manage and continuously improve assigned procurement processes, to ensure work is as efficient as possible. 

• Leads local negotiations on deliveries, within given limits; act as escalation point of contact for local claim management. 

• Manages locally relevant supplier contracts within the value chain. 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field 

•  8+ years of experience in Direct Procurement, hands-on experience executing sourcing activities and supplier negotiation.  

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with OSATs, Assembly, Test and BE manufacturing processes is preferred, with at least 8 years in a regional role 

• Experience with contract management and contract process ownership. 

• Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills 

• Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and drive initiatives across multiple locations 

• Knowledge of SAP MM is preferred.
