What’s the opportunity?

Parabilis is scaling toward a commercial future, and the systems our teams rely on have too often grown one step at a time rather than being designed as coherent wholes. The Enterprise Solutions Architect exists to change that. This is a senior, cross-functional design and delivery role that partners with business teams, internal technology functions, and external vendors to evaluate, design, and deploy streamlined, well-architected workflows and the data foundations beneath them. You bring enough technical depth to make the design calls yourself, and enough project and stakeholder leadership to carry them through to a working system in production.

This role holds design authority for the systems and workflows it builds, and leads the projects that deliver them - scope, sequencing, timeline, risk, and vendor execution. It does not direct how any business team performs its work. Instead, it partners with those teams to translate how they need to work into cohesive, maintainable systems that let them add value rather than work around disconnected point solutions. You will be a force multiplier: the person who sees the whole board when everyone else sees their own square.

How the role is scoped:

• Owns (design and delivery authority): end-to-end architecture, workflow design, and data models for the systems you build, plus the delivery plan behind them - scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and vendor performance. These are yours to decide and drive, with the backing of the Sr. Director of IT.
• Partners on: requirements with business stakeholders, delivery with internal technology teams such as Cloud and Engineering, and implementation with external vendors and systems integrators. You coordinate and shape the work and hold vendors to scope and schedule. You do not manage internal teams' people or their backlogs.
• Operates within: the standards each function owns, including Cloud platform and infrastructure standards, Engineering scientific-computing and data-product standards, and IT security and compliance standards. You design inside those rails, not around them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business teams to map current-state workflows, surface the root causes of friction, and design cohesive future-state systems rather than incremental patches.
• Own the architecture, workflow design, and data management approach for the systems you deliver, ensuring they interoperate cleanly with the broader technology estate.
• Translate business needs into clear system and data requirements and translate technical constraints back into terms stakeholders can act on.
• Manage stakeholders across functions and levels: set expectations, build consensus on trade-offs, keep sponsors informed, and drive adoption through training, documentation, and change management at go-live.
• Lead delivery of the projects you design: define scope and success criteria, build and maintain the plan, sequence dependencies across internal technology teams (Cloud, Engineering) and external vendors, and manage risks and issues to closure — working within each team's standards while holding the coherence of the whole.
• Run the operating cadence for your projects: status reporting, steering updates, decision logs, and escalation to the Sr. Director of IT when a dependency or decision is blocking.
• Own the vendor relationship for the systems you deliver: define requirements for RFPs and evaluations, participate in selection, shape statements of work, and hold implementation partners accountable for scope, quality, and schedule.
• Reduce reliance on disconnected, third-party-built point solutions by designing for the whole system and its interconnections, not one team in isolation.
• Establish design patterns, documentation, and data governance practices that make the systems you build maintainable and auditable over their life.
• Provide design guidance and technical review on projects you do not directly lead, helping other teams make sound architecture, integration, and data decisions early rather than inheriting the consequences later.
• Where systems touch GxP, clinical data integrity, or other regulated processes, design to meet applicable data integrity, validation, and compliance expectations in partnership with QA and IT compliance.
• Hand-off delivered systems to their long-term owners with the documentation and design rationale needed to operate and evolve them.

What you’ll need to be successful:

Required 

• 7+ years of demonstrated experience designing and deploying cross-functional business systems and workflows end to end, not just implementing point tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer systems or related field a plus.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying cross-functional business systems and workflows end to end, not just implementing point tools.
• A track record of personally running multi-workstream implementations to completion — planning, sequencing, risk and issue management, and go-live — without a dedicated project manager alongside you.
• Strong systems thinking and data-architecture skills: the ability to model how processes, systems, and data should fit together across teams.
• A track record of partnering with non-technical stakeholders to elicit needs, negotiate scope and trade-offs, and drive alignment and adoption without holding line authority over them.
• Experience selecting and managing external vendors and implementation partners, including requirements definition, evaluation, statements of work, and holding partners to delivery commitments.
• Fluency working within, and respecting, standards set by infrastructure, engineering, and security functions.
• Excellent communication skills across both executive and hands-on technical audiences.
• Hands-on technical depth sufficient to build and configure, not only to specify — integrations, data modeling, and system configuration — so you can carry work yourself as an individual contributor.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and broad scope in a lean, fast-moving environment.

Preferred

• Experience in life sciences, biotech, or another regulated industry, with exposure to Clinical Development workflows and clinical data.
• Familiarity with GxP, data integrity (ALCOA+), HIPAA, SOX, or SOC2 expectations as they shape system and data design.
• Experience with platforms common in clinical and enterprise environments, for example clinical, eTMF, or EDC systems, integration and data platforms, and workflow or document management tooling.
• Prior experience as an internal architect or consultant brought in to untangle organically grown systems.
• Experience with formal delivery methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or stage-gate) and with validated-system implementations in a regulated environment.

The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$195,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal practices. Parabilis’s total compensation package also includes an annual target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of competitive benefits designed to support our employees’ overall well-being.
