About this role

Senior/ Lead Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

What you’ll do

As a senior mechanical engineer in our building team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to exciting and transformative projects across diverse sectors including aviation, health, defence, data centres and major event infrastructure. You'll play a key role in delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes while working within a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
 

You will:

  • Lead the delivery of mechanical design packages across mid to large scale projects
  • Act as a discipline lead, taking ownership of key engineering outcomes from concept through to delivery
  • Advise clients on complex engineering projects from concept to delivery
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and practical design solutions
  • Support project coordination, delivery and reporting, ensuring quality outcomes for clients
  • Build and maintain client relationships through consistent delivery and communication
  • Contribute to a team culture that is collaborative and supportive

This is a delivery‑focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on in projects while continuing to build their leadership and client capability.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered, registered, or actively working towards chartership
  • Experience delivering building services mechanical design within a consulting, contractor or client‑side environment
  • Experience taking ownership of design delivery, coordination and client interaction
  • Ability to mentor and train others
  • An enthusiasm to assist the wider team in business development and build on your own personal brand
  • A track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes
