The Position
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Medical Malpractice Attorney to join a leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney to develop expertise in a growing practice area while working alongside accomplished partners and legal professionals. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload, focused on medical malpractice claims, while ensuring all legal matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, team members, and partners on strategic legal projects, fostering strong teamwork and knowledge-sharing.
- Take ownership of important case-related activities, including attending court appearances, depositions, motion hearings, and other legal proceedings, including participation at trial.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing detailed case updates, managing client expectations, and offering proactive solutions.
- Draft and review complex legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Contribute to the development of case strategies and support senior team members in preparing for trials and settlement negotiations.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in Texas
- 8+ years of defense litigation with a focus on medical malpractice or healthcare defense experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Client-facing experience preferred
- Ability to integrate into a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Legal project management experience is helpful
