About this role

Job Description Summary

As Senior O&M Station Manager at GE Vernova, you will be the operational leader of a live thermal power plant — accountable for its safety, reliability, financial performance, and contractual compliance. At the same time, you will govern the Shahabad Facility: overseeing site security, utility management, legal representation, and township services.
This is a role for someone who moves between strategic decision-making and ground-level execution without missing a beat — someone who finds purpose in keeping critical energy infrastructure running and in protecting the people and assets that depend on it.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Lead plant operations end to end: Own site-wide Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability, manage operational budgets, drive cost reduction, and ensure revenue recognition aligns with business financial cycles. Plan and execute all O&M activities, including outage management on complex critical path schedules to meet contractual availability targets.

  • Apply data to drive decisions: Analyse plant performance trends and use that analysis to identify and resolve technical and systemic problems. Translate operational data into clear recommendations that improve plant efficiency and uptime.

  • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer. Build transparent, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, proactively resolve issues, and ensure all contractual obligations are upheld.

  • Govern the Shahabad Facility: Oversee site security, utility administration (electricity and water), and maintenance contractor performance. Manage electric and water supply for the township, including coordination of residential services. Act as the senior site representative for legal and regulatory matters, coordinating with GE Vernova (GEV) Legal and Counsel to manage risk and monitor ongoing litigation.

  • Lead and develop your team: Build, mentor, and guide a multidisciplinary team within a matrix organisation. Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, sourcing, and field services. Champion Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance and a rigorous safety culture across the full site.

  • Embed process discipline: Use business tools — including Document Management Systems (DMS), performance bowler charts, and project review rhythms — to drive process adherence and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Who You Are

You are a senior operations leader with deep experience in the power sector — someone who has run complex sites, managed commercial contracts, and led large teams through both planned outages and unexpected challenges. You bring both the technical fluency to read plant data critically and the commercial instincts to protect margin and manage risk.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from a recognised university

  • 15+ years of experience in the power industry, with a track record of leading large-scale O&M site operations or complex infrastructure projects

  • Significant experience in commercial contract negotiation, with a sound understanding of project feasibility and market dynamics in the power sector

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organisation

Preferred

  • Familiarity with key power plant equipment domains: Steam Turbines, Generators, Boilers, or Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS)

  • Strong understanding of financial processes including revenue recognition, margin management, and forecasting

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, completion of a Project Management Leadership Program (PMLP), or equivalent recognised training

  • Experience managing facility-level governance including security, utilities, and contractor oversight
