What you'll do

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for assigned private equity firms using portfolio mapping, install-base analysis, vertical and buy-and-build priorities, whitespace identification, and relationship-development strategies to prioritize expansion, cloud-transition, and new-logo opportunities.
  • Build multi-threaded relationships with operating partners, heads of value creation, portfolio technology leaders, investment professionals, portfolio executives, and other decision-makers, positioning Epicor as a strategic technology partner across the investment lifecycle.
  • Translate sponsor value-creation priorities, including EBITDA improvement, working-capital release, standardized reporting, integration, carve-out execution, and exit readiness, into differentiated narratives for both the PE sponsor and the portfolio-company economic buyer.
  • Identify acquisition, carve-out, divestiture, platform-consolidation, modernization, and on-premises-to-cloud transition events that create opportunities for Epicor solutions; use relevant product-support or innovation milestones as timely, evidence-based entry points.
  • Own the full sales lifecycle for designated private equity carve-out opportunities, including prospecting, discovery, systems-readiness assessment, solution alignment, deal strategy, negotiation, forecasting, and close.
  • Serve as a strategic sales overlay for non-carve-out portfolio opportunities, partnering with territory, account, channel, and solution teams to develop deal strategies, navigate sponsor relationships, and advance qualified portfolio-company pipeline.
  • Build a referral and influence network with technology-diligence advisors, value-creation partners, systems integrators, and other ecosystem participants; orchestrate cross-functional resources across Sales, Solutions, Channel, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, and Services.
  • Develop portfolio-wide commercial approaches, including preferred-vendor or master-service-agreement frameworks, standardized statements of work, implementation models, and repeatable sales plays that support multiple portfolio companies.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM management and forecast accuracy while measuring PE-sourced and PE-influenced pipeline separately; share portfolio intelligence, competitive trends, benchmark insights, and results that improve sales effectiveness across the Revenue organization.
  • Establish and manage practical leading and outcome measures for the PE motion, including sponsor engagement, referral activity, assessments, portfolio agreements, qualified opportunities, sourced and influenced pipeline, and closed-won results.

What they're looking for

  • Advanced enterprise software or SaaS sales capability with demonstrated success developing and closing complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities and consistently delivering against revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of private equity business models and transaction stages, including acquisitions, diligence, carve-outs, buy-and-build strategies, portfolio value creation, operating-partner relationships, hold-period economics, and exit readiness.
  • Advanced strategic account planning, portfolio analysis, pipeline generation, consultative selling, executive engagement, systems-readiness discovery, negotiation, and deal orchestration capabilities.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to connect technology investments to EBITDA, working capital, operational improvement, growth, profitability, integration, and investment outcomes.
  • Exceptional cross-functional influence, communication, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish referral partnerships, lead complex initiatives without direct authority, and operate independently as a senior individual contributor.

Nice to have

  • 10+ years progressive experience in enterprise software, SaaS, technology, or complex solution sales.
  • 4+ years of experience selling to or working with private equity sponsors, private equity-backed companies, strategic enterprise accounts, or similarly complex investment-driven customer environments.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding individual sales targets, generating significant new-business pipeline, and converting strategic relationships or ecosystem referrals into measurable revenue outcomes.
  • Experience navigating executive-level relationships and complex sales cycles involving multiple internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio-company and sponsor constituencies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Full description from employer

Senior Principal Private Equity Sales

The Senior Principal, Private Equity Sales is a senior individual contributor responsible for accelerating revenue growth through strategic relationships with private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. The role treats the sponsor and portfolio company as a two-part buying unit: building sponsor access and preferred-vendor credibility while aligning to the portfolio company's operational, financial, and implementation priorities.

This role develops executive-level relationships across the private equity ecosystem, identifies acquisitions, carve-outs, buy-and-build, modernization, and other investment events that create opportunities for Epicor, and builds scalable pipeline across assigned firms and portfolios. The Senior Principal is the direct seller for designated carve-out opportunities and a strategic sales overlay for other portfolio-company opportunities, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for individual revenue and pipeline objectives.

What you will be doing:

What you will likely bring:

  • Advanced enterprise software or SaaS sales capability with demonstrated success developing and closing complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities and consistently delivering against revenue targets.

  • Strong understanding of private equity business models and transaction stages, including acquisitions, diligence, carve-outs, buy-and-build strategies, portfolio value creation, operating-partner relationships, hold-period economics, and exit readiness.

  • Advanced strategic account planning, portfolio analysis, pipeline generation, consultative selling, executive engagement, systems-readiness discovery, negotiation, and deal orchestration capabilities.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to connect technology investments to EBITDA, working capital, operational improvement, growth, profitability, integration, and investment outcomes.

  • Exceptional cross-functional influence, communication, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish referral partnerships, lead complex initiatives without direct authority, and operate independently as a senior individual contributor.
