About the Role
CoStar Group is seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking procurement professional to serve as a strategic partner focused on technology spend management, FinOps, vendor optimization, and AI-enabled procurement transformation.
This role will act as a subject matter expert supporting the modernization of procurement processes, driving cost optimization across technology investments, and identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence and automation to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines extensive technical knowledge and operations experience with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
This position is located in Arlington, Virginia and is in office Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Partner with business leaders, Finance, IT, Security, and Legal to support sourcing and procurement activities for technology-related spend.
- Assist vendor evaluations, RFPs, contract negotiations, and supplier management activities.
- Analyze technology expenditures and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
- Support enterprise software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications, and professional services procurement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain vendor performance metrics and scorecards.
FinOps & Spend Optimization
- Partner with Finance and Technology teams to improve visibility into cloud and technology spending.
- Monitor usage trends and identify cost-saving opportunities across software, infrastructure, and technology services.
- Develop reporting and business insights that support budgeting, forecasting, and investment decisions.
- Assist in the development of governance processes related to cloud and technology spend.
- Support initiatives focused on improving the financial efficiency of technology investments.
- Evaluate emerging AI-enabled procurement solutions and recommend opportunities for adoption.
- Drive automation initiatives that streamline sourcing, contracting, supplier onboarding, and spend analytics processes.
- Leverage AI tools to improve procurement workflows, reporting, and decision support.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify repetitive or manual processes that can be enhanced through automation and intelligent technologies.
- Stay current on industry trends related to procurement technology, generative AI, machine learning, and digital transformation.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement policies, workflows, and stakeholder experience.
- Develop recommendations that reduce cycle times and eliminate administrative burden.
- Create dashboards, metrics, and reporting that provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Support change management and adoption efforts associated with new procurement technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement operations.
- Influence stakeholders through data-driven recommendations and business case development.
- Collaborate across Finance, Procurement, Technology, Security, and Operations teams to drive enterprise-wide improvements.
- Support strategic initiatives involving cost management, vendor rationalization, and operational efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person University or College.
- 5+ years of experience in operations, FinOps, or spend management.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently lead cross-functional initiatives and influence outcomes.
- Experience supporting cloud financial management or FinOps initiatives.
- Experience leading AI initiatives.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other cloud environments. Large metered or usage-based (DataDog, DataBricks, Confluent, Tokenomics)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing procurement automation or AI-enabled solutions.
- Familiarity with spend analytics, supplier management, and procurement performance metrics.
- Experience negotiating technology and software agreements.
- Experience working with procurement technologies, spend analytics tools, or ERP platforms.
- Professional certifications such as:
- CPSM
- CSCP
- PMP
- FinOps Certified Practitioner
- Experience in a high-growth, technology-driven public company.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
Base Compensation: $116,000.00 - $158,000.00 Annually
