Full description from employer

Hi! 👋 I'm Steven, Lead Product Manager at WeTravel

I'm hiring a Senior PM to own Trips, the domain where every trip comes to life. Ten thousand travel businesses build, present, and sell their trips with WeTravel, from boutique agencies to student travel operators running hundreds of departures a year, which makes this both the surface their teams spend most of their working day in and the first thing their travelers ever see. You'll own it end to end: the trip page they sell with, and the content and AI engine that crafts it, and the content specialists who build our library, who will report to you.

About WeTravel

Travel gives people new experiences and brings them together, sometimes in life-changing ways. That's especially the case for group travel and multi-day travel (think of a 7-day safari in the Serengeti, a 5-day scuba diving trip in the Galápagos, or a multi-week pilgrimage) where travelers get to really immerse themselves. Passionate travel organizers make this magic happen, and WeTravel is here to support them.

Multi-day travel businesses use WeTravel as their end-to-end operating system: publishing trip offerings, generating and converting leads, processing payments around the world, paying suppliers and vendors. WeTravel helps them grow sales, save time, and save money, so they can focus on delivering incredible bucket-list experiences.

WeTravel is a 400+ person company representing more than 50 countries. We combine global diversity with the agility and closeness of a much smaller team. More than 90 colleagues are based in our Amsterdam office in Rokin, including the entire Product Org and most of our Engineering team.

You will have fun innovating fast with brilliant, low-ego colleagues. Our clients are also easy to reach, which helps us stay close to their needs and build with them.

Financially, WeTravel is highly secure and growing fast, with 50 to 100 percent year-over-year growth depending on the metric. This gives us a strong foundation to build from.

About the Role

This is the domain where our biggest bet is playing out. Building and selling a great multi-day trip is a lot of work: crafting a story worth booking, assembling the content that tells it, and presenting it all in a page a traveler trusts. Our goal is to cut that turnaround down so organizers get back to their client faster, convert more of them, and sell more trips. It also has to hold up as they grow, because a boutique agency selling bespoke trips and a student travel operator running hundreds of departures are building on the same tools. The way we get there is great technology in the hands of organizers and their teams. You will own that end to end, the experience and the engine behind it.

What you'll work on

WeTravel Trips give organizers the tools to create proposals, detailed itineraries and a high-conversion booking experience, while giving them time back to grow and operate their business.

We're now looking for a Senior PM to take this domain through its next phase of growth, and make WeTravel the best software for travel businesses to build, present and sell their trips.

Our success in this domain will drive the growth of our organizers by expanding in several areas:

  • An integrated building experience that helps organizers find the right content and craft the right trip for the right travelers.

  • Shared libraries that pay off most when a team works from them, so every proposal that leaves the company is consistent, beautiful, and unmistakably theirs, whoever wrote it.

  • AI-enabled tools to imagine and create new trips, produce world class content, and optimize their sales funnel.

  • Trip pages organizers can publish and promote wherever their travelers are.

1/ Designing the trip page and selling the trip

Think of the trip page as the product detail page of the travel industry. It is where an organizer's work becomes something a traveler wants, understands, and buys.

  • Dynamic Trip Builder: Intuitive tools for organizers to create their trip offerings, in the languages their travelers read, on WeTravel and beyond it.

  • Day by day itineraries: the plan that makes a trip feel real before anyone has booked it, built fast and kept accurate as the trip changes.

  • High converting pages and proposals: whether an organizer publishes a trip for the world or sends a tailored proposal to one client, the result has to look professional, capture travelers' imaginations, and turn interest into a booking.

  • Mobile app for travelers: once they have booked, travelers carry the trip page in their pocket, with everything they need before and during it.

2/ The content and AI engine that turns hours of work into minutes

  • WeTravel Library: a curated library of properties, activities, and reusable content on its way to 20,000 properties, so organizers build with high quality content.

  • The organizer's own library: their photos, their descriptions, their reusable blocks, so a growing team sells in one voice instead of rewriting content from scratch.

  • AI-assisted building: Copilot that drafts and improves trips inside the builder, so organizers start from a strong draft rather than an empty page.

And the team behind it. Our content specialists will report to you, and you will own the content strategy, the regional prioritization, and the pipeline that keeps the library growing.

I'm looking for an experienced, generalist product manager to lead this domain end-to-end. You will deeply study travel organizers' needs, prioritize them, come up with solutions (or hypotheses to test), drive all necessary functions to build and launch the solutions, drive adoption, and ultimately grow our revenue and profit. You will also manage our content team, and you will have direct and continuous access to C-level executives to ideate and create products.

If you've ever wanted to empower businesses with innovative tech and have fun in a well-funded rocketship in the heart of Amsterdam, this is it.

An Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate would bring a track record of exceptional results and a well-rounded product management skill set, especially the ability to break down any problem and drive high-velocity execution.

Must-haves:

  • Deep product management experience owning real outcomes, not just execution.

    • 10+ years in product management is ideal (lead level)

    • 7+ years is minimum (senior level)

  • Travel industry knowledge.

  • Comfortable being accountable for product-led commercial outcomes, not just features shipped.

  • Strong cross-functional stakeholder leadership across sales / account management, engineering, design.

  • Growth and experimentation mindset, with the judgment to decide without perfect data. Willing to ship, learn, and iterate.

  • Data self-sufficient. You can pull your own numbers, find where a funnel leaks, and size the opportunity before asking for engineering time.

Things that will likely help you in this particular role:

  • You have owned a builder, editor or CMS-like product where the artifact your users create is what earns them money.

  • You have shipped AI features that people kept using, and you can tell the difference between a good demo and real adoption.

  • You have treated content as product, not as someone else's job, and have worked with or led a content operation.

  • Experience with public APIs, webhooks, or platform work.

  • Experience managing people, even a small team or a dotted line.

Interview process

Our process aims to be high-signal and help you learn about WeTravel and our people. Two interviews will be realistic working sessions. No take-home assignments. The whole process will take only a few weeks.

Screen

  • Recruiter screen (30 min): introduction, background, motivation.

1st round

  • Hiring manager interview (60 min): your background in depth, the role, your questions.

2nd round

  • Live whiteboard session (60 min, onsite): a real Trips decision worked through together, for example Trip page redesign, Copilot scope, or Library content prioritization. Assesses structured thinking, clear reasoning out loud, and product judgment under incomplete information.

  • Team working session (45 min): with a Product Manager, an Engineering Manager, and a Designer: Working through your product management experience, plus a UX collaboration exercise.

3rd round

  • CEO conversation (30 min): A two-way discussion about mission, ambition, and culture.

A Final Note

Our clients are entrepreneurs and artisans who pour their passion into creating bucket-list experiences. Helping them grow their businesses is what motivates us, and what would motivate the right PM for the Trips domain. If that resonates, I'd love to meet you.

Steven
