Senior Release & Deployment Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Release & Deployment Engineer to oversee the end-to-end release lifecycle of our large-scale, multi-module platforms. The ideal candidate will be a master of orchestration and governance, using data-driven insights to continuously improve our release processes. You will be a key player in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless and efficient deployments.
Release Orchestration & Governance
- Drive end-to-end release planning, change control, risk assessment, and deployment window management.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence as primary collaboration tools to maintain clarity and alignment across teams.
- Balance the need for deployment speed with the imperative of maintaining platform stability.
Data-Driven Release Intelligence
- Leverage Python and SQL to extract and analyze deployment metrics.
- Build and maintain trend analysis to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
- Transform release management from a reactive process into a proactive, continuous improvement engine.
Infrastructure & Environment Awareness
- Apply a working knowledge of Unix/Linux operations and ECS/OpenShift environments.
- Interpret deployment logs and server health metrics to make confident go/no-go decisions during deployment windows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related issues under pressure.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
- Translate complex technical information into clear and concise executive-level updates.
- Lead structured and effective release calls with global, distributed teams.
- Ensure accountability through detailed minutes of meetings (MoMs), action item tracking, and proactive escalation of issues.
CI/CD & DevOps Fluency
- Navigate and manage CI/CD pipelines using Harness/Lightspeed.
- Champion the adoption of automation in the release process, including ROD, parallel deployments, and automated post-deployment checks.
- Act as a bridge between development and operations teams, fostering a collaborative DevOps culture.
AI-Augmented Release Operations
- Apply GenAI tooling (e.g., Stylus, Copilot) to accelerate the creation of release documentation and runbooks.
- Utilize AI to surface insights into deployment risks and to drive intelligent test data management.
- Embed AI as a force multiplier across the entire release lifecycle to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Required
- Proven 10+ Year experience in a Release Engineering, DevOps, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of release orchestration, governance, and change control processes.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
- Basic scripting and data analysis skills using Python and SQL.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and container orchestration platforms like ECS or OpenShift.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or Lightspeed.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Stylus) and an interest in applying AI to release operations.
- A deep understanding of DevOps principles and a passion for automation.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
