About this role
.Job Description
Support the safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operation of the plant by executing EHS procedures, monitoring compliance, conducting trainings and audits, and driving corrective/preventive actions to reduce risk and improve EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities
1) EHS Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain EHS registers, permits, licenses, and statutory records (Form 11/12, PPE logs, training records, waste manifests).
- Assist in submissions to regulatory bodies (State Pollution Control Board, Factory Inspectorate), and support inspections/audits.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 45001 (OHS) and ISO 14001 (EMS) requirements—procedures, internal audits, and document control.
2) Risk Assessment & Controls
- Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment), JSA, LOTO verification, and work-permit checks (hot work, confined space, work at height).
- Track and close CAPA from audits/observations; escalate high-risk findings.
3) Incident Management
- Record and investigate near-misses, first-aids, MTI, LTI; prepare RCA using 5-Why/Fishbone and define CAPA.
- Maintain incident dashboard and ensure timely reporting to management.
4) Training & Awareness
- Conduct inductions for employees/contractors; deliver toolbox talks and refresher trainings (PPE, fire safety, ergonomics, chemical handling).
- Develop training calendars and coverage reports.
5) Emergency Preparedness
- Support emergency response plans; conduct evacuation/fire drills; maintain muster data, emergency equipment checklists (extinguishers, hydrants).
6) Environmental Management
- Monitor emissions, effluents, noise; maintain records against consent/limits; coordinate sampling and lab reports.
- Manage solid/hazardous waste (segregation, storage, disposal via authorized vendors); track manifests and TSDF coordination.
7) Contractor & Process Safety
- Verify contractor EHS compliance (PPE, licenses, medical checks); conduct site briefings.
- Participate in MOC (Management of Change) for new equipment/process changes.
8) Continuous Improvement & Culture
- Drive Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observations; promote housekeeping (5S), energy/water conservation ideas.
Support dashboards, monthly reviews, and EHS week campaigns.
