At Safran, we recognise that aviation needs to innovate and change in order to protect our environment. We believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are working to develop and deliver advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight.

The team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, control systems and electric motors for aircraft propulsion.

If you want to help deliver this future, we are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to join our team. The role can be - Inside IR35 Contractor or fixed term employment for 12m with a potential for it to be permanent after this period.

Based at the Centre of Excellence in Pitstone you will work within the Systems Engineering team to lead the development of advanced aircraft electrical power generation, distribution and propulsion systems. Responsible for the full systems engineering lifecycle, you will define, develop, integrate and support innovative electrical systems from concept through to certification and in-service support. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will provide technical leadership, manage customer and stakeholder requirements, oversee system integration and verification activities, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards and certification requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technologies while engaging closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams to deliver complex safety-critical systems.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, Systems or a related discipline) or possess equivalent experience in a relevant technical field.

• Proven experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including system design, integration, verification and validation, ideally within electrical power generation, distribution or electrical propulsion systems.
