About LearnLux

LearnLux is the leading provider of workplace financial wellbeing, blending fiduciary digital planning with access to one-on-one guidance from Certified Financial Planner™️ professionals. Our award-winning program helps employees navigate critical financial decisions from budgeting and benefits elections to equity compensation, home buying, and retirement so they can feel confident about their money and focused at work. Advanced reporting helps our partners understand impact, driving outcomes like reduced financial stress, increased productivity, and improved retention.

We’re building LearnLux with intention. We move quickly, operate with a high bar for quality, and value people who take ownership of their work. We’re a venture-backed company that has raised over $35M to date and is supported by experienced investors and long-term partners. We’re a growth-focused business building for scale, and we’re excited by the opportunities and challenges that come with that journey.

The Role

LearnLux is a full time CPA or Enrolled Agent. This is a tax guidance role, not a financial planning role. We are looking for someone with real experience filing returns for people with complex, high value equity compensation.

Our clients  hold  ISOs, NSOs, and RSUs, often from pre-IPO or recently public companies, and often paired with AMT exposure, multi-state filings, and other high net worth tax situations. You'll give guidance on individual returns and other tax questions for this population, working closely with our CFP® team so tax strategy and financial planning stay in sync for the client.

This role is remote within the US and reports to our Director of Financial Planning.

What you’ll do

  • Review and offer guidance on individual tax returns for clients with complex equity compensation, including ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, and AMT considerations
  • Advise on tax implications of equity events like exercises, vesting, and sales, and flag planning opportunities before deadlines pass
  • Handle multi-state and high net worth filings, including clients whose net worth or equity holdings exceed typical mass-market thresholds
  • Partner with our CFP® team so tax positions and financial plans are coordinated for each client
  • Own the tax prep workflow for the Tax Pro service end to end, from document collection through filing
  • Help build and refine our internal Tax Pro processes and documentation as the service scales
  • Stay current on tax law changes that affect equity compensation, AMT, and high net worth filings

You should bring

  • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license
  • A minimum of 4 years preparing complex individual tax returns with meaningful equity compensation
  • Direct experience with high net worth clients, including individuals or households above typical mass-market net worth thresholds
  • Comfort working with clients from tech and startup backgrounds, including pre-IPO equity situations
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in plain language to non-expert clients
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership over accuracy and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving startup environment

It would be great if you also

  • Prior experience at a Big 4 or national accounting firm
  • Experience at a tech company, fintech, or a firm that serves tech employees and founders
  • Familiarity with QSBS, 83(b) elections, or 10b5-1 plans
  • Experience with multi-state returns for remote or relocating employees

LearnLux is a fit for you if you

  • Thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy building in moments of change. We operate with urgency, and roles, priorities, and approaches evolve as we grow.
  • Like wearing multiple hats and helping define the path forward. At LearnLux, roles evolve as we grow, and employees often help create clarity, structure, and direction where it didn’t previously exist.
  • Take initiative and don’t wait to be asked. You see problems as opportunities and are comfortable stepping in to move work forward.
  • Are energized by ambiguity and willing to make decisions with imperfect information. We learn quickly by doing, and pace is a competitive advantage for us.
  • Enjoy being hands-on and owning work end to end. While strategic thinking matters, execution, follow-through, and accountability are what drive impact here.
  • Are motivated by high standards and continuous improvement. As we hit new milestones, we intentionally raise the bar on quality, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Value clear, frequent communication and collaboration. As a remote team, staying aligned through proactive communication is core to how we operate.

Benefits

  • Remote-first company structure
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Mental wellbeing (Talkspace)
  • Financial wellbeing (LearnLux)
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years of service
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth at a fast-growing startup at the cutting edge intersection of financial wellness and technology
