Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Technical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical design process from concept to final product, ensuring that our garments meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and functionality. Your expertise will be crucial in driving our product development and enhancing our brand presence in the competitive retail market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design Management: Lead the technical design process for women's bottoms, including pants, shorts, and denim. Ensure all designs meet the brand’s standards for fit, construction, and functionality.

  • Fit and Construction: Develop and maintain technical packages, including specifications, construction details, and measurement charts. Oversee fittings, make pattern corrections, and ensure the fit is consistent with the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, product developers, and factories to translate design concepts into accurate and production-ready samples. Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless product development process.

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards for fabrics, trims, and construction techniques. Conduct thorough garment inspections to ensure product consistency and quality.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction without compromising quality. Implement best practices to enhance product development efficiency.

  • Trend Analysis: Stay current with industry trends, innovations in technical design, and advancements in materials and construction methods. Integrate new techniques to improve product performance and appeal.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized records of all technical design activities. Prepare detailed reports on fit sessions, sample evaluations, and production issues for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical design experience in women’s apparel. Experience working with retail or wholesale brands, particularly those that supply to major club stores, is highly desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in pattern making, garment construction, and grading. Strong knowledge of fit analysis and adjustments. Experience with CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex) and Adobe Illustrator. Must have strong experience with PLM systems; experience with Centric is a plus.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards for quality and accuracy.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex technical information clearly to non-technical team members.

  • Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
