What you'll do

  • Overall software/systems responsibilities spans systems used for fiber network inventory management, quality of data in those systems, and integrations with the fiber network inventory systems into other systems.
  • Partner with fiber engineering, construction, service delivery, and operations teams to ensure inventory systems accurately support end-to-end network lifecycle processes including planning, design, construction, as-built documentation, turn-up, maintenance, and capacity management.
  • Establish standards, governance, and reconciliation processes to improve fiber inventory accuracy, completeness, and operational trustworthiness.
  • Define and prioritize business requirements for internal software, 3rd party software and integration between systems in alignment with business goals.
  • Provide input on roadmaps and ensure that they align with technical requirements.
  • Work with network automation teams, service delivery teams, and NOC teams to drive efficient workflows through automation.
  • Create technical specifications, scope, and user stories for the software engineering team to execute against.
  • Determine metrics and measurements for new products, features, and data quality. Be hands on as needed with the data to demonstrate and define how these metrics are gathered in code.
  • Conduct research and identify new opportunities for innovation and efficiency with internal work flows and processes.
  • Gather feedback from internal stakeholders and external customers and sales to constantly improve customer deliverables, internal automation and customer facing automation.
  • Assist with development of testing and deployment plans.

  • Strong understanding of fiber inventory data models including cables, fibers, splice points, splice relationships, structures, routes, circuits, capacity tracking, and service inventory.
  • Strong understanding of fiber engineering and operational workflows including planning, design, construction, as-built documentation, inventory reconciliation, service activation, maintenance, and network capacity management.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions, workflows, integrations, and system enhancements.
  • Experience working with large and complex network inventory, GIS, and operational datasets.
  • Experience partnering with engineering, operations, service delivery, and software development teams.
  • Experience developing requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.

  • Experience with IQGeo Network Manager Telecom.
  • Experience with GIS-based network inventory systems such as 3-GIS, VETRO, ArcGIS, Network Engineer, Granite, or similar telecommunications inventory platforms.

Zayo is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager, Fiber Inventory, to be responsible for leading the development and delivery of our fiber inventory platforms. This includes working with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design features, and implement solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiber networks, fiber inventory management software, software development and product management.

Estimated base salary range: $95,100 - $146,300 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.


Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
