What you'll do

  • Product strategy and roadmap. Co-own strategy and roadmap with Marketing for a single product area (one application or one platform service area), from problem definition through shipped, measured outcomes.
  • Requirements, written yourself. Personally, author detailed technical product requirements with appropriate specificity, and participate substantively in architecture reviews.
  • Prioritization tradeoffs. Own the calls within your area: feature build vs. tech debt, depth vs. breadth, refactor vs. ship.
  • Outcomes, measured. Measure results through both business metrics (adoption, retention, conversion) and technical metrics (latency, reliability, defect rate).
  • Technical partnership. Partner closely with engineering tech leads as a peer who argues architecture, not just a stakeholder who files tickets.
  • Discovery and evidence. Run customer discovery and synthesize feedback and product analytics into roadmap decisions, using tools such as Productboard, Pendo, Dovetail, and Amplitude.
  • Design control. Author requirements that stand as software design inputs under 21 CFR 820.30(c) and IEC 62304, with acceptance criteria that become verification criteria for regulated products.

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 8 years of hands-on experience managing projects of increasing complexity, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria.
  • Demonstrated experience owning product strategy and roadmap for a technical software product area, from discovery through shipped and measured outcomes.
  • Proven ability to author detailed, testable technical product and feature requirements, including acceptance criteria.
  • Sufficient technical depth to understand code, system designs, APIs, and architecture tradeoffs and effectively partner with engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of software design control practices in regulated environments, including 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 62304, and design change control.

Nice to have

  • Experience with regulated products (SaMD, medical devices, or another regulated domain) and design control practice.
  • A prior engineering background, or hands-on familiarity with the application and platform stack (APIs, cloud services, mobile or web).
  • Experience partnering with UX Design and Marketing Product Management on shared product decisions.
  • Familiarity with product analytics instrumentation and experimentation.
