At DoorDash we’re building the industry’s most scalable and reliable delivery network to support our three-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers. TPMs on our Engineering teams provide fundamental support to the underlying technology services as well as the engineers building these services. It’s no simple task, but it wouldn’t be interesting if it was!
About the Role
Platform Services is one of DoorDash’s organizations responsible for extending DoorDash beyond the consumer marketplace. The team owns three distinct business lines: Drive, a white-label delivery API that enables external businesses to access DoorDash’s delivery network; Parcels, which provides last-mile logistics for retailers and merchants; and Enterprise (DoorDash for Business), a b2b product suite powering corporate meal programs and large ordering for organizations of all sizes.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to help scale Platform Services. You will lead important engineering wide initiatives across Enterprise, Drive, and Parcels, working with Engineering, Product, Operations, and business leaders to deliver dependable, extensible logistics capabilities for external businesses. Programs will span backend services, partner and merchant integrations, operational tooling, and platform interfaces. They require strong technical judgment, cross organizational coordination, stakeholder management, and ownership of results.

- Drive Platform Services’ Most Strategic Programs - You will partner closely with Engineering and Product leadership, Strategy & Operations, and cross-functional teams to turn Platform Services’ strategy into executable technical programs. The portfolio spans Drive (DoorDash’s white-label delivery offering), Parcels (last-mile logistics for merchants and retailers), and Enterprise (DoorDash for Business) a b2b corporate meal and large order fulfillment platform serving organizations of all sizes.
- Lead Complex Cross-Organization Execution - Platform Services depends on capabilities across logistics, merchant and partner integrations, dispatch and fulfillment, operational tooling, platform infrastructure, and the broader DoorDash ecosystem. You will establish clear ownership and milestones, surface critical dependencies and tradeoffs, and drive alignment across teams when the path forward is not obvious.
- Bring Technical Depth and Systems Thinking - You will develop a deep understanding of the architecture, integrations, data flows, and operational systems behind Drive,Parcels, and Enterprise. You will engage in technical designs, identify scaling and reliability risks, understand how decisions in one part of the system affect end-to-end delivery and partner experiences, and help teams make pragmatic tradeoffs.
- Turn Ambiguity into Strategy and Action - Many of our hardest problems do not begin with a clean scope or a single owner. You will truth-seek across technical and business inputs, frame the problem, clarify the definition of success, develop a point of view on risks and options, and create an execution path that teams and leaders can align behind.
- Connect Engineering Execution to Business Outcomes - You will understand the merchant, partner, customer, and economic outcomes behind the work and use that context to guide prioritization and execution. Whether the goal is expanding access to DoorDash logistics, improving delivery quality and reliability, enabling new partner use cases, or improving cost to serve, you will help teams stay focused on the technical work that matters most to the business.

- You’re experienced in working with engineering teams on large-scale distributed systems and/or b2b products. You can speak to system architecture, scalability and reliability decisions, and design trade offs.
- You’re a strong leader with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across organizations, bridge gaps between teams, and successfully influence without authority.
- You have strong ownership, urgency, and drive. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details to understand and drive your programs.
- You have excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with confidence, clarity, and focus. You can convey concepts and considerations to non-experts and experts alike.
- You’ve engaged with Engineering teams on product & platform development with a thorough understanding of software development processes and project planning.
- You are pragmatic and detailed in your approach and focus on progress, not perfection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline.
- 5+ years recent experience as a Technical Program Manager at a technology company.
- Experience in large-scale distributed systems and system architecture.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams on product development, with a thorough understanding of software development processes, system architecture, and scalability trade-offs.
- Project planning and execution skills that include reviewing technical design documents, estimating, and scheduling.
Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay ranges for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
