Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Security Investigator. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) Ground Base Strategic Deterrent program and the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

You will support our counterintelligence and security investigation program at our Roy, UT, location. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, investigating incidents involving insider threats, counterintelligence, and suspected compromises of classified information. You will conduct subject interviews, collect supporting evidence, and write and submit reports of investigation. You will oversee and implement our SDS counterintelligence program; coordinate information gathering and reporting with applicable Northrop Grumman functions (e.g., HR, ER, Legal, and Ethics) and cognizant security authorities; maintain case management evidence; report adverse information to applicable cognizant security authorities; and conduct security and counterintelligence briefings as required.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with eight years of related experience; Master’s degree with six years of related experience; or Ph.D. with four years of related experience. An additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at the time of application that is current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing investigative security reports.
• A high standard of integrity and the ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and personal information securely.
• Experience interpreting and applying security regulations, standards, and requirements.
• Experience supporting security incident investigations and administering or reviewing access to sensitive information, systems, or facilities.
• Familiarity with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and DoD Manual 5205.07.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with SIMS, DISS, JADE, and/or other applicable government security databases.
• Formal investigative training.
• Basic knowledge of access controls and security systems.
• Ability to demonstrate tact, discretion, and diplomacy across a variety of program areas.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Primary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
